Pet Nameplates

We can name our pets in collections but they don’t have name plates. I would like to have an option to have a pet nameplate.

Wouldn't hurt to do so. This idea is very simple and should definitely become available.

I would love it so people can see the silly names I have on mine, however I wonder if it would be an avenue for people to make new offensive or trolling names which ZOS would have to police.

Mounts would be interesting as well if there was ever a way, I want everyone to see me riding on my Jagu-Guar.

I suspect this isn't a thing, because of people giving their pets inappropriate names. To be fair, it might stop me from trying to harvest my tourchbug, but still.

People would DEFINITELY use it to troll... Reminds me of my LOTRO PVP days. My main monster character was a weaver (giant spider). I often renamed my hatchlings in such a way as to taunt particularly annoying players on the other side, and then commanded the hatchlings to attack said players repeatedly. Pet deaths showed up in chat, so it was amusing. “Hejazia defeated Hejazia’s Macro Keys.”

It's probably not a thing so pets can't "block the view" on enemies. But yes, I would love to see pet nameplates or any other way to tell what name the pet has that I am looking at.

I don't know how you could do this in a way that wouldn't exacerbate the problem of nameplate/pet clutter, but it'd be very cute, and it's one of many things that I think would make the pets feel more substantial.

Yes please! ive seen this in most other MMO's it would be really great.

It would have to be optional so people who don't want to see it can turn it off, but I'd love to have this.

And I don't see that inappropriate names would be that much of an issue. Most games where you can name your pet/equivalent NPCs let other players see the names and it's rarely a problem as far as I'm aware. When it is then it's simply a matter of reporting the person like you would for an inappropriate character or guild name.

I suppose there is a potential risk that someone has had an offensive name they find amusing for years and they'd be upset if they were forced to change it because someone else turned on the option to see it and got offended. But maybe there could also be an option to show or hide your pets names - so if you want to keep them private (for any reason) you can do so.
