Is it worth coming back to ESO?

I was invited to closed beta in July 2013. I stopped playing ESO a few months after Morrowind came out. Soon after My account got compromised without my knowledge. I was CP~800+.

Essentially ZoS support told me since the person who hacked my account and made purchases for 6+ months, they were able to “correctly claim” that it was their account as well.

Therefore they told me since “2” people have access to the accounts payment information. They permanently disabled the account.

I get what most of you are gonna say “cool story”. The point of this post is not to cry about ZoS stupid and clueless decision to disable an account that I have had for 5 years. And was able to successfully show proof of purchase and still get rejected.

The point of this post is this simple question:

Is it worth it right now, at this state of the game, to return? Are people still enjoying the game? The game dying in player base?

Any information will let me know if it’s worth putting money and time back into this game despite [removed bashing comment]

I'm still enjoying the game, but I'm sure it depends on the content you like to do.

PVP has persistent performance issues, but is still as fun as ever if you can bear with them.

Summerset and Clockwork City added some nice quests and new zones.

Dragon Bones, Summerset, and the new DLC added new dungeons and a mini trial for end game content.

Its a real pity that happened to your account, so I guess the question is whether or not you want to do the grind on a new account to get back to where you were. Will that be a disappointing grind or a fun way to explore the game anew?

The game is still fun for me but I am not sure I would want to start all over from the beginning. Mostly because I have 14 characters and have gone through all the story lines several times.

You have had a good long break so it might be worth a try to start again? If you feel the need to catch up it is going to be really grindy though.

If you can accept it for what it is . I've been trying to reboot my interest and play the morrowind content but everything seems kinda like I'm playing the same content I played lvlung 1 through 50. Grinding more cp and getting new meta sets is leaving a lot missing. Someone will likely say I'm doing it wrong and not enjoying the rpg aspect. In all honesty if I want to play a single player rpg I'd play one that does it extremely well like the witcher

    Depends honestly what you want.

I'ma give you a simple solution:

If I told you this game continues to be 'everquest lite', would that turn you off the game? If yes, dont get the game.

The support team continues to vary in quality depending on who you get. Nothing has changed there.

    The quick answer is: No.

The long answer is: No, unnecessary nerfs, unnecessary buffs. Devs dont pvp or pve. Too many dlc's with little content (2 dungeons) and subsuquent nerfs (again).

As you being an old player you might remember the "play as you want"; well thats a thing of the past, they force you to play A way or B way, if you choose C way then people will most likely kick you from vet content (toxic fortnite kids).

Cyrodiil is broken since beta, no signs of patching (every patch breaks it more) cyrodiil is mostly ran by a monopoly of guilds between factions (toxic fortnite kids; again)

Dont even get me started on BG's.

Didn't read about the part where they deleted your account even showing proof. Just follow the quick answer and move on. If they did that to me i wouldnt even be trying to come back again to a product that has kicked me in the face.

Avoid the game as it is now.
    Thank me later.

    No, abolutely not!
    "They permanently disabled the account."

if that happened to me, I would never go back, not just in this game but in other games that they will do.

I don't understand something. If your account is permanently disabled, this account what is it?

For me it depends if you do PVE the game is rather fun PVP not so much do to issues not solved and or hasn't been addressed yet. Now for material as in mining and gathering things need improvement on this area drastically to get things enough to actually make theme worth it.

As for play ability yes, missions and dungeons yes, as for a complete map like Cyrodill or Argonia (Blackmarsh) or the rest of Morrowind and Skyrim and Hammerfell no, many areas are missing and needs work there and proper locations and map sizes also need work.

I have only been playing for around 18 months and I have seen the game go downhill with every patch and update. I'm up and down when it comes to cyrodil I think yeah lets make a new build and play the darkside for a while to find it freezing constantly and it makes me lose interest.

PVE is at your control you do as you like. It seems for me that im constantly farming gear to keep up with having the best build at the time, Before I know it there is anothers gear set for me to get as the previous was Nerfed.

Would have loved to see what the game was like back in the day.

I paused for a bit and came back. I love it. I only pvp’d during the recent festival and I had fun. Battlegrounds are best under level 50. Once you hit 50 Battlegrounds are terrible because of unkillable premade teams. When it comes to PVE, the content is still easy enough for you to be creative with your build. I love the quests and the lore. Also I love the Warden. Can things be better? Absolutely. And I still think this game is thriving.

Permanently disabled a 5-year old account after someone jacked it for a few months?

No, I wouldn't come back if I were you.

Plus I just unsubbed and uninstalled for my own reasons, so my current opinion would be negative. Don't know why I'm still browsing the forums. Habit I guess.

The thing is, this is MMORPG, where there are constant fixes, buffs, nerfs,..... and everytime something is wrong and never, never ever you can satisfy whole player base...

But note that, every MMORPG has bugs, there is not a single MMO that does not have bugs and ESO does not have many to be honest..

I enjoy game very much, pop is constant EU/pc you can find player everywhere, queuese are not long, i enjoy pvp with my nightblade...

But funny thing that i noticed, ppl that are playing ESO, suggesting you that you do not come back =) haha...

I say, come back, you can try free thing (from tomorow if i recall) and then you will see... in my opinion, this is one of the best mmorpgs that i play after WOW (played id from start for 10 years almost)...

    Pve players be like. LOL
Ever since i played eso when i started all i did was pvp only i pve'd only to farm sets i needed.
So what's so bad about pvp? it's actually better in my experience then pve you can learn to adapt and learn strategies and more hardcore depending on the opponent.
Sure pve is the same but [Same opponent always]
I like to be surprised when fighting in pvp overcoming other players and learning to get better.

Any information will let me know if it’s worth putting money and time back into this game despite the Support team being brainless robots.

The game is worth every minute of your time, deep magnificent lore and all that stuff that keeps you coming and doing still the same things again and again :). Just now you don't need to pay anything. Subscription isn't necessary as they give cool items free of charge and also double drops events , free crown crates for everyone, and many more, and some say you can buy crowns for gold from in game sellers (saw someone yesterday offering 1 crown per 325 gold in general chat).
So you may return to game but no need for eso+ because eso+ gives so little now, it's completely not worth the money charged - if you can live without dyeing costumes, craftbag, +10% exp gained and an access to DLC areas, which you can buy for crowns.

    just my 50cents :).

If you are having fun how is it not worth it? But yeah its just more of the same. I'd say this is an easy patch to sit out. The developers have been committed to reaching out to the community (eso class reps) so we will see if anything comes of this next patch.

Game is awesome, yeah there are things that can always be smoothed out, but that's the nature of an MMO

With player base, seems to be going pretty strong. (on EU at least). Up to you if you want to join in. :)

    Only you can decide that!
PvP is the same shambles it has been from Closed Beta on
PvE there's plenty to do & Summerset looks great (if you like sunshine, beaches & bleached architecture)
