Questions about altering my sorc

I currently run a pet sorc.
my gear consists of 5/5 Necropotence, 5/5 Julianos and 2/2 Ilambris.
Is there a good set to switch out my Julianos pieces? With some fine tuning (with food) I was able to increase my max magicka from 41K to 45K. Would Mother's Sorrow be a god replacement for my Julianos pieces?
Also, how can I increase my max magicka? My armor pieces are all divines with three pieces being infused (monster set and sash). I am currently running the lover stone as out of the Lover, Apprentice and Mage, I am laying down slightly more DPS with Lover.

Another question, are there any sorc builds that are viable that produce high DPS that aren't pet builds? I enjoy the pets, but the playstyle is getting kind of stale for me. Also, that damned Twilight Matriarch getting in the way of everything is getting on my nerves, as I have the pets on both bars.

✭✭✭✭✭Can you give up 300 Spell Damage? Maybe around 6% crits? That is what you give up with Julianos. If your going away from pets, its the Necro you need to swap out. Mothers Sorrow, Scathing Mage, or Moondancer. Kagneracs would be interesting, as you get 200+ spell damage, but I am not sure if the fast res is all that useful (maybe it would be in PVP)

✭✭✭✭✭If you stick with pets, then you should swap Julianos for Mother’s Sorrow. Pets can crit, but are not affected by Spell Damage.
Non-pet builds are outperforming pet builds, but are a little harder to play. It relies more on light attack weaving, and mostly avoids heavy attacking. Trials sets like Moondancer or Siroria are the best gear option, paired with something like Sorrow, Julianos, or Burning Spellweave. A Perfected Asylum staff with Willpower jewelry is also a strong option if you are using Crushing Shock or Force Pulse (not with Elemental Weapon). For Monster helms, I switch between Zaan, Slimecraw, and Ilambris depending on content.0
