    died to sload maybe once or twice since the pvp event started

    getting runcaged and nuked to oblivion like every fight. also why does CC break /roll free NEVER work against it, yet people roll out of my petrify just fine!?

    Stop the grind! Get rid of stupid events and daily-quest gallore. Get rid of "have a chance of 1 in a million to get a piece of 1 in 30 to get a stupid motif or pet... wtf..."
    And at this point just remove all classes and have everyone choose their set of skills. then balance accordingly to skills always used vs. skills never used.

    I find it hard to believe that anyone would rather get Sload'd! Rune Cage causes a death way more than Sload's does, as far as I can tell. Between getting double stunned due to lag, or failing to break free due to... I don't know what (also lag?), RC nabbing you during a dodge roll and/or from the next keep over, and just the simple fact that Rune Cage is a full on stun vs some incoming damage...

    Well, like I said, I'm not sure how anyone would prefer getting Sload's applied to them vs a Rune Cage.

    As a Templar sloads is not really a problem unless I get it stacked repeatedly on me.

    But even with 20k Stam rune cage won't break while I eat all that damage including sloads

    Rune doesn’t stack and is completely negated by LOS and immovable pots. Sloads stacks, keeps re procing even if you manage to LOS, and has no direct counter outside of healing but as a solo player your healing is already needed to counter the damage that exists without sloads.

    Rune cage is instant, from like 40+ meters near a keep, cant see it coming, cant block, cant dodge, does damage, cant break as its a broken CC.


    All of that and the devs think the skill is totally fine! Just needs a small damage nerf.

    Problem is getting hit by both... a lot.

    This is very true. But then let’s be honest about PvP for a second. There’s a whole basket of crutch skills/sets that make PvP miserable. RP and Sloads are just two. Spin to win is bs, lethal arrow, major defile in general in CP including sets that apply it, proc damage sets in no CP, bubbles etc. Theres a whole big pile of stuff that could be removed from PvP that would make life better.

Lame ass spin2win when you can't even see the animation, Dawnbreaker with no animation (that seem to hit you when the dude if facing another direction and 20m away), unbreakable fears, knockdowns from nowhere and nohow, siege circles you can't see...

    Part of the issue is that players always gravitate toward things with little to no counterplay. Thing is, that particular point of "meta" chasing isn't something that can be dealt with... only the elimination of that meta is.

    Duh this is because of animation cancel. You don't get to see the animation when its cancelled. Every single player in PvP has died to this crap I see it every single day. Its time animation cancelling was correctly fixed so that, and try and stay with me here "THERE IS NO @$*@#%&#% REASON TO HAVE A COSMETIC ANIMATION FIRE AFTER THE SKILL DOES. NONE. 0"

    I literally cannot fathom how rune cage got out of the PTS in its current form. I legitimately question the talent or effort of the so-called "balance team" here at ZoS.

    On paper Rune Cage doesn't seem so bad to me. More or less the dark magic equivalent to a Templar's Javelin. But in practice, Rune Cage dominates a fight WAY more, and ruins fun more effectively. I can see how it seemed okay in stable environments and small scale testing.

    What I don't get is how it becomes so buggy in Live Cyrodiil. I can break free and carry on from almost everything else just fine, but RC locks me down (sometimes right after a CC break even) seemingly no matter what.

    Sloads. One stack is nothing. If you can't outheal it, you deserve to die.

    Getting Rune caged means incoming cheeseburst.
    NB enthusiastic:
    1. Woodhippie stamblade - DW hard-hitter / PvE
    2. Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
    3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

    Nightblade-Hipster. I played Nightblade before it was cool - from 1.5 onwards.

    I learned to endure/mitigate Sloads and survive. It might mean the other guy gets away, but I'm not dead and going back to the horse riding simulator.

    Rune is generally a big factor of insta-death most times.

    Lol bro they aren’t even nerfing it this patch. Gonna have to endure another 3-4 months of rune cage cheese burst only for zos to say, “we will address this in a future patch”. My butt. The dev team plays magsorcs and stamblades or just listens to the cry baby sorc night Blade community because they don’t wanna lose their “I win button”

    Who even knows at this point?

    Is it the animation cancelled bs (which is many cases is automated...) or just a crappy laggy server(s)?

    But it's true that there is no good reason to have a cosmetic animation that fires after the totally untelegraphed damage.

    Thing is, you just invite the official defacto deniers in. They will say "animation cancelling does not work and no pvper worth their salt would use it (these aren't the droids you are looking for). Fact is that it's relatively trivial to just make macros per skill and if all you do is dawnbreaker a macroed block cancel of that button. The laughable claim is always "dynamic combat", but that's conflation because we aren't talking about scripting or sequencing of macros... just per button macros. There is no logical reason they don't work better than doing it manually (past manually getting a better feel for current latency, but with autohotkey I'm pretty sure you can change the latency.. no reason to bother going to trouble of coding a program like it without that).

    It's likely that animations become desynced because of the cancels. It's also likely that they are the biggest cause of pvp anger, pvp exploiting, and certain people making their arrogant rants belittling others on the forums. Generally speaking the angry elitist is always the guy taking the most opportunity to get ahead, that's just human nature... and you can usually pick out who the cheats are just by looking at their words.

    Are you sure about it not being changed in the coming update? Like in a Statement of any zos member? That would indeed be a letdown.

    After close to a year of avoiding pvp because I didn't enjoy continuously getting ganked and killed, I finally got good with the concept of dying a lot and tried to learn from it. During the current Mayhem event I had a blast and leveled a couple of pvp toons. I can honestly say that whole experience of pvp in Cyrodiil is pretty awesome...EXCEPT for all the CC crap. Nothing like holding your own against 3 players only to find yourself running away in fear (really?) or suddenly frozen, unable to do anything but take a relentless beating until your dead. I know ZOS loves CC's, but they really suck all the enjoyment out of a battle. I don't mind dying in a good fight and will gladly give good players their kudos. But being CC'd to death? Just cheap, pointless annoyance.

    Sloads I can hot through or purge after it’s on me. Once Rune Cage is on, there’s a good chance it’s game over by the time the break free animation plays. Especially if I hadn’t purged the set up by the time it hits.
