I've never understood this either. Clearly weather effects are generated client-side, but why can't the server send a simple text-based weather setting instruction to all clients every 5-10 minutes based on zone and location within zone? Would be so cool if they did that.Kuramas9tails wrote: »So my boyfriend and I went into a discussion this weekend over the weather system in ESO, especially when we were traveling together in Cyrodiil and it was raining and storming on my screen but it was clear and sunny on his screen. Being a mega server, I am slightly confused on why our weather is instance based and not global. Anyone have an answer as to why ZOS did it this way? My boyfriend and I have speculations but that is all it is.
Thank you.

@dotme See, the only thing I could come up with is the possible thunder/lightning effect. If it was to happen to everyone at once, maybe it would cause lag for everyone at that particular time so it's spread out between accounts? But my boyfriend said that having multiple instances of weather would, in and of itself, seem more of a hassle than a global weather system.I've never understood this either. I was noticing how nice the windows are in Cyrodiil compared to housing windows. You should be able to look out them. But as far as the weather, yeah, I has that happen to my houses in the forest. It would be raining inside my housing but leave and it's nice out. lol.i'm in my house in Wayrest, i can hear thunder and hear rain too, but go outside and it's sunny
