Roll dodge is too powerful

Hey,
I am not PvP veteran like most players but few things I have noticed is Perma Roll dodge builds - ok I get it medium armor is not as tanky, agree with it can live with that but what is the point of aplying burning/poison.other DoT's effect when you can roll dodge them or cloak to make it it having no effect? I mena it's like turning off most of my skills while somebody is rolling at me with certain set and causeing me to take damage at same time... Good I have fossilize but without it I would be so screwed... Pls consider making DoT applied before roll dodge to go through it as it should be... Cannot imagine poison spreading through my body to not take effect when I roll dodge...

    They annoy me to no end too. They'll roll dodge several times until they know you've drained your resource pool and then hit you. Using CC's and then bursting is all you can do. Maybe cost poisons to really make their dodging hurt them?

    As far as we regular players know, applied status effects cannot be mitigated by roll dodging, if that is what you are implying.

    Cloak works for 2.9 seconds and then it's another cast of cloak to keep mitigating status effect damage.

    Roll dodging works for avoiding only incoming attacks that are dodgeable.

    Perma roller or roly-poly was a pre-Morrowind thing, only a large stamina pool allows for rolling a few times consecutively before it becomes too expensive to roll any further. There is a cool down for the cost to not increase after each subsequent back to back rolls.

    Let them roll a few time before applying fossilize, then step in and apply your DoTs to your heart's content.

    CCs, dots and pressure. Has lots of soft counter like block that you don't even need to spec into massively.

    Snares and light attacks until they run out of stamina, then hard CC and execute.

    Alternatively/additively, cost increase poisons will wreck those builds. The thing about PVP in this game is that it’s a loose rock/ paper/ scissors. You won’t beat everyone with one build. Know what opponents you’re strong against and carry other gear or poisons for opponents that cause you trouble.

    Keep on them, if they're burning all their stam to roll dodge, then it shouldn't take long before they're incapable of doing much damage or blocking. At which point, you drop ult or just turn the heat up on them, and it's ezpz.

    That said, I do also wish that DoTs kept up through roll dodges and cloak, just because they're a main part of the magDK toolkit.

    You mean evasion? Stamina characters don't have a shield or instant heal, they rely on dodge chance and HOTS. Believe me, I get the *dodge* *dodge* *dodge* *dodge* every time I try to hit a stamblade. lol. It's similar to me shield stacking. I had like 3 stamina characters on me yesterday and I kept stacking and my health bar didn't drop until I ran out of magic. That's the biggest difference. Evasions don't cost stamina. My shield does cost magic. Manually dodging costs stamina though.

      It really shouldn't.

      This is a skill that hits harder than surprise attack. You're saying getting hit by it for 5-9k when your using pretty much the only defensive you've got is ok?

      Imagine if Surprise attack just went through shields?

      Magicka wardens need a good cc. Stamina wardens have been top 3 for pvp since release, being the strongest in multiple matches.

      When you see someone roll over and over hold back on your best moves dude. Rolling is freaking expensive even for with your misunderstood "perma roll" delusion. Even if you made a build with all recovery and Max Stam with all reductions it is damn impossile to have perma roll.

      It will literally cost 10k+ Stam per roll before you know it. You do the math.

      It is all about timing your rolls, and you should time your attacks. Rather than mindlessly button mash all you got then get surprised they turn on you after 4-5 rolls and rock your world, L2p :)

      Roll has been nerfed enough as it is.

      Yep. My StamBlade has no shields. At 2.9 seconds, cloaking is a minimally effective tactic. Maneuverability is my main advantage. I run Eternal Hunt so roll dodge is an important defensive and offensive tactic. Even then I get my toon but kicked more often than not. Leave roll alone.

      Dodge is fine, it’s potent but it has a lot of counterplay (hardcounters really)... as stam you should load them up with dots and bleeds and spin to winter end them ... as mag you should dot them up and then soul assault

      Also as a long time Magden main I have to say no to bringing back the unconditionally undodgable cliff racer... that ability was incredibly op in its original state... Sure it’s pretty much useless now and that is unacceptable for a class spammable, but reverting it to a god status ability against medium armor is not the rework it needs... The undodgeable birds of Morrowind was unhealthy for the game... It would be analogous to if they made a Necro class with an awful toolkit but then gave it a spammable that did ~5k oblivion damage to shielded targets on each cast

      You need to learn how your class' kill mechanics work. Until then players who are good at using their defensive mechanics will be unkillable to you.

      It's been said, but I'll say it again, as it really is pretty simple. Let them roll away, then do absolutely no damage without the stamina.

      Say it with me now... "COUNTER PLAY." Sorry a few of your skills don't work for just a moment or two on someone who's trying to use a counter play technique to that skill. Either let them roll away and don't worry about it...or wait for the right moment to CC them... or just play smarter and let them roll all their stamina away and then use those skills to attack them.

      OR, last option... just do what AD does and swarm the rolling person with a 20+ man zerg. That should take care of it :|

      I don’t mind the dodging or the dodge rolling. I mind that some people are getting notifications to dodge and if other people want to keep up they have to cram addon after addon into their game.

      roll dodge isnt "to powerful" its meant to give you a free dodge. but the issue where people get 10 or 20 of them from a roll comes from the gear and abilities used. you can almost get a 100% dodge chance right now on stamina which is unreal.
