i rarely see people taking Draugh Hulk + Clever Alchemist for controllable burst. In my calculation, Draugh Hulk has more damage than Hundings Rage but everybody seems to take Hundings Rage. (dw/bow)

what do you think about a heavy armor PvP Setup with Ogronum, Troll King, Clever Alchemist?

or a dot-set: sheer Venom, vicecannon, spawn of mephala/valkyn skoria/zaan …. with a bow (heavy attack out of stealth or shadowy disguise, poison injection … and then ambush, incap strike or dizzy with a 2h … so the dots can tick without any Response) ?

Question: "when you deal damage" (procs) is this once per attack or every tick of a dot?

When you deal dmg is every tick of dmg you deal.

Vicecanon will make you unable to cloak.

Hulk probably have more raw dmg + sustain, Hunding have crit chance aswell.

Moons and sands shall be your guide and path.

Widowmaker, sload, skoria with poison and dw axes is a very strong combo. Widowmaker is highly highly underestimated.

I use sheer venom, bone pirate and valkyn skoria.

Unless you're a straight ganker, you probably want a sustain set for a stamblade. I use bone pirate with blue drinks (mag and Stam recovery) for sustain

When you don't know how to damage yourself and want your sets to do all the work, use something like: sload, viper, valkin

I am running Clever alchemist + Spriggans + Bloodspawn. bloodspawn means really good incap up time plus bonus resist in the thick of it

I need to farm VDSA for a masters bow, being able to run a masters bow is a big advantage for Clever Alchemist builds.

How good is bone pirate? I'd be willing to switch to it I have a set lying around.
Atm leeching strikes seems to be very good for self sustain for me, and if I run out I just wait stealthed to recharge, Clever alchemist encourages this burst and disengage playstyle anyway

Bone Pirate is worse than Hulking Draugr unless you've got sustain issues. You lose out on a lot of max stam & weapon damage.

Also, I know Bone Pirate was bugged a while back where the extra stam from having a drink buff active didn't actually improve your damage. Not sure if that ever got fixed.

Correct, that was fixed in the last update

"Bone Pirate’s Tatters: Fixed an issue where the Max Stamina from this Item Set’s 5-piece bonus was not increasing your damage done with Stamina abilities."

Draugr Hulk doesn't give WD so you don't lose out there, just a little stamina. You may have meant damage done, in which case this would also be correct.

You do realize you have a proc set in the first build you posted, right?

Usually I run Molag Kena 2pc, Eternal Hunt 5pc, and Impregnable 5pc with full well-fitted trait. I like Molag Kena because I can time my burst rather than relying and waiting on a proc set. With 1.9k stam regen in BGs and using Leeching Strikes, I hardly notice the 20% increased cost in abilities. With this I reach a nice, if I recall correctly, 11.6k Surprise Attack tooltip and an 18k Incapacitating Strike tooltip.

However, have noticed that, at least in deathmatch mode BGs, my damage is just fine when using a setup like: Bloodspawn 2pc, Fortified Brass 5pc, and Impregnable 5pc with full well-fitted trait. I tend to use that setup when cloak is being countered too heavily. And just in case you're wondering: Very rarely will I get third place when playing with either setup, and that's with a high MMR. Also not a ganker of any sort.

But onto your suggestions: I never liked Clever Alchemist because you're out of a 5pc when your pots are on cooldown, which is 30 whole seconds of not being able to use the set bonus when there are opportunities to do so. Then there's heavy armor in general, which I've had no success with. NBs don't have any particular defenses that compliment heavy armor like the other classes(stamina based I mean). Sorcs have hurricane/dark deal, DKs have major mending/battle roar, and templars have a house/purge/minor mending. Cloak and fear are pretty much all they have, which are both situational. Lastly, DoT builds are definitely strong. It's just that when you run into a templar all those sets will be almost useless against purge spam.

This is just my take on the topic. My set choices stem from wanting to have builds that work well against each class because I don't like to have situational offenses/defenses.

Casting a Shadow ability grants you Major Resolve and Major Ward for 6 seconds, increasing Physical and Spell Resistance by 5280. This duration is increased by 25% for each piece of Heavy Armor equipped.

my magblade is currently in 5 heavy/2 light, and, my stamblade - 5 medium/2 heavy...

with the right enchants you can come down to about 21 sec potion cooldown and you have an additional advantage that you can have run 2 potions at once. but it must be an expensive build :)
