Its time to remove the Home and Guest server feature in this game and move to a One Tamriel Approach

What i'm talking about is simple.

We remove Home and Guest feature....Instead at the start of every Month you decide which Faction you want to pvp for that month. You can then move between any server freely on all your characters.

You can add things like Realm Pride tracker where the longer you stay with a faction the better rewards, Or a Low Population tracker, where the longer you stay on the Low Population faction the better the rewards. It will increase while on the low population side and decrease once you switch to the High population side. While Ream Pride will consistently increase the longer you're on a faction and never decrease.

This would probably help balance out the population a bit better in the game. Right now there is little reason to separate the factions based on Races anymore and would better suit the game if you just chose which side you wanted to fight for.

To clarify, are you essentially proposing all characters have no alliance? Aka, our DC characters are not DC at all, but based on monthly choice? How would this work with PvE questing, where faction has some impact still in storyline?

Correct, the same way One Tamriel works basically...You can start the game as a DC character but go over to EP instantly and start questing and it treats you as basically having started as EP.

The Faction in pvp itself would work the same way, at the start of every month you simply select your faction.

Also wanted to add after this change you could then simplify all the server as well.

Instead of 7 day or 30 day, You simply would have Standard (30 day) and No CP (30 day) and Under level 50 (30day)

You would have 2 Standards to catch overflow...and your progress of actually contributing would be based on your faction and not your server. Meaning If I didn't want to deal with lag on Vivec i could go play on Shor if it had lower population and still contribute to my Faction Bar for example.

The longer I stay with a faction I would increase my Faction Bonus (Be it free crafting materials or whatnot) But if I decide to play a Low Population faction the following month it would stop progress on that Faction Bonus and start progress on the Low Faction Population bonus instead..If both are the same they'd both increase.

This rewards people who prefer to stick with one faction and also those who decide to play on the Low Population Faction for that month.

Be a nice idea, currently on ps4 eu EP outnumber the other factions to the point where they are always pop locked on the 2 active campaigns.

Where as DC only has enough to pop lock 1 campaign if you took all the pop from all the servers.

Its a crappy event when 1 faction just kills the pvp when they seem to move is 50 group hordes.
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

I don't think Cyro has anything to do with questing or alliance in the Pve half of the game. I mean, unless your that hardcore into RP'ing LOL

While I agree with much of this, I wonder how you propose to deal with crowning Emp, is there only 1 emp across all campaigns? That would make it very hard to achive, and would probably result in some over the top cheese AP farming, and if there is an emp for each campaign, whats to stop a group from crowning say 3 Emps during night/morning cap and zerging hard with people sporting emp bonuses? OR what happens if DC has emp in one campaign, EP has it another and AD has one too, can they all go to same campaign as Emps and battle it out for supreme emp?

there is potential in the idea but there would need to be some reworking of the emp mechanics.
    Ummm stuff… about stuff…or something.

It's a nice idea, but still allowing players to "choose" will leave campaigns still lopsided. Only way to balance all of this out is to remove choice. Everyone comes in as individuals, and the server distributes them evenly across the 3 factions. Maybe leave a provision to keep guilds together somehow by guild leader entering the queue each month. The server then puts all those players into one of the factions. Would take a good amount of work and I don't think ZoS would invest the resources sadly =(

Only one Emp allowed on a single server at a time.

Emp would decide who has the Highest AP currently online on any the current Server when they're crowned.

Log off and it reverts the next on the list.

Go to a different server, goes to the next on the list.

Its possible, i'm hoping that a Lowest Population Contribution bar with good enough rewards would push people into doing it.

I doubt this would do much more than get factions stacked with organized groups that don't really want to fight each other (yes, we know they are all about "the challenge", but we also know that's total bs and they really want to wipe masses of plebes).

I think the factions system isn't really the problem.

I look at the breakdown of servers and how they are organized as the problem. Ignoring the recently added for midyear event because the servers can't handle stress servers... you have one below 50 (no cp), one no-cp and 2 cp servers to choose from.

I would just change the nature of CP so that the only gains you get from it are the Champion points in the trees and not the stats. Either give the stats at level 50 equal to max CP or eliminate those stats in pvp altogether (but allow the CP tree choices to be active). Eliminate No CP altogether... Modify CP to either give the stats at level 50 (to max CP level) or eliminate the stat boost altogether(in pvp).

Reorganize the servers into timezones (sub 50 left unchanged). For the US servers make a Pacific server, midwest server, and an Atlantic server. Make them all 2 weeks, all with same ruleset and CP trees enabled with stats on or off.

Add dual spec, so pve(or pvp) players that also pvp (or pve) can play somewhere (currently they mostly just play No CP).

The idea that ZOS, which seems to struggle with balance in general, has chosen to have to balance two types of pvp (CP and No CP) is like a one armed man intending to juggle.
