Does fishing pay off at some point in game anyone catch anything that was worth alot of gold?

There are much more efficient ways of making gold than fishing.

It's a completion thing for most people (you get an achievement for becoming a master fisher and a boat for your house). It can also be fun if you enjoy the fishing mini-game.

Yea I've been doing quest and other group stuff so much I need a brake from it all so I thought I give fishing a try I'm way above level 50 so just something different for a change

It's not a good way of making gold, more a way to relax while you are watching TV or something.

Also achievements - I always said I wanted to get Master Angler and since I did I have worn the title with pride. Took some effort, not like some achievements where you barely register that it exists and that you earned it.

Ilike to fish for a while and catch something that might be worth alot of gold like a one lucky spot or something. Probably won't happen since I just started been fishing around summerset.

If you want the Master Angler title, the fishing dyes, perfect roe, the Pynadonean motif, and the Artaeum recipes, yes.

Some people find it a relaxing way to make gold. I would assume there's the exploring and travel part too. I don't think have patience for it though. I can only respect those that do.

If you go after the master angler title and sell all the perfect roe it's a great way to make ur first million gold+.

After that its eh, after getting the title and selling 94 perfect roe I was done with fishing in this game.

Last night, I used a fish as bait to catch a fish, and I got the same fish. Canibals...

This one finds it disturbing.

The fish filets are worth 0 gold, but you can craft them into food and sell that. It is all extra gold when you are doing the fishing achievements or fishing for roe or those motifs/recipes.

It could do with being a little less tedious, non filleted fish have value but filleted have the chance of perfect roe. It’s a darn slow way to make gold though.

I enjoy fishing and have 6 Master Anglers and, in the process, have made several million in gold from selling perfect roe. I don't have much in other things to sell so I make my gold by fishing and stealing.

I just find it a relaxing bit of fun, sometimes I "use" the fish for crafting, other times I just sell it to NPCs especially with new characters who have no gold. For me it simply adds an additional dimension to the game, one that I've always enjoyed on the same basis in any game that offers it. I have no illusions of making making or ever achieving Master Angler status, however.

The master angler achievement is a real time sink, the perfect roe drop rate is about 1/200 from personal experience as well which means it isn't a good way to make gold at all. A bit of advice to anyone who is going to go for the achievement and are not in AD, go for the ocean cyrodiil fish first, there are only a few spots where you can catch them right outside the AD gates so it's dangerous fishing, best to go on a campaign where AD are winning as there is less chance they will walk past that spot.

Need to find a nice spot where most people don't go like the ice beaches of the home of the orcs I've been out that far really don't see anyone else around on the Xbox north American servers. Get as close you can get to the Skyrim border

If you are going for the Master Angler title, you will need to catch the 12 rare fish in each zone.

Also, fishing with other players will increase the chance of rare loot (but exhaust the spot faster).

And make sure you are using the right bait for the type of water. Read A Guide to Fishing in Tamriel in game for tips.

I've seen that the fishing holes for run out at a number of fish you do catch. Move on to the next one.

Would love to see a daily fishing quest in this game. Catch X amount of Z type of fish at Y location. Reward could be gold and maybe some other rare goodies like mounted fish trophies for you home.

I'm not the type to be able to just fish like the game play is currently, if there were some unexpected rare goodies like a free re-trait stone for one item for example that would be fun.

EP can get them okay-ish too - just on the other side of the River from AD Held Bravil there is EP held Cropsford. It's a bit safer on that side, but imo AD lucked out having 90% of ocean real estate.

I started fishing thanks to BG queues a little while ago. In like a month I have 3 zones done, so not exactly a fast process. It is NOT an efficient way to make gold. The perfect roe drop rate is about 1/100. It takes me about 5 minutes to fish a hole dry on average. Assuming all normal fish and no time between holes (both are obvious not true), you are basically talking about 2 roe an hour give or take, and that is a bit optimistic in my experience. At 10k each, that's a pretty rough return.

The Perfect Roe certainly helps, but if you dont care about titles, achievements or shineys for your house, there is really no point.

You can receive a title and achievements, so yes.

I actually didn't start making any money until I started fishing and selling Perfect Roes, those are pretty much the only thing I find that's worth any regular money.
