I was so excited when jewelry crafting was announced. But, it didn't take very long to become discouraged with it.
Just long enough to realize it would take me a year just to upgrade my current 3 pieces of jewelry.
I hope I don't then find something new/better to wear instead.
So, now i have to make getting jewelry mats my daily priority.....lol
Sadly it's not even a very big boost to get it to gold level.
I am pretty much a solo , pve player so that eliminates some of the methods to get the mats. Oh Well.

Jewellery Crafting was something I wanted in ESO for years but ZOS killed it with grind for mats and perks.
There was a post not long after Summerset release that actually contained some maths of how much you need to grind to level it up compared to other professions...

I really wanted it and now it seems like it's not worth it...

Have you looked at the patch notes for PTS? Very informative and the changes have been discussed. Outside of that the topic has been discussed at length with some very insightful information.

I've been playing the game again for around 2 weeks and I already got one guy to Jewlery 50 and got 13 Chromium Plates so far... I really don't think it's as bad as you're making it out to be. Anybody sufficiently developed over the years should have a surplus of skill points ready to go - and then through regular gameplay you'll get enough jewelry to decon over a week to get it fully ranked.

Plus you know... upgrade costs getting halved and writs only giving chromium dust from now on sounds like it will help alot.
