If it's a Dungeon set then it's BoP, regardless of whether you got it from the Dungeon or the Golden. You can only sell Jewelry pieces bought from the Golden if it's of an Overland set.

I vote to abolish BoP for most items. Only special items should be BoP. It's corny. If I'm walking around and want to give/sell someone something, not much can prevent that. This magical prevention is stupid.

It's not trying to be 'realistic' or 'immersive'. It's not a "magical prevention", it's a game mechanic. If you want dungeon loot, you gotta run the dungeon.

The economy is fabulous. I guess I missed the punch line since I do very well with the economy. Only MMORPG I played with BoE dungeon gear was a joke. Pathetic to this very day.

You must be a trader, not a shopper. The ESO economy sucks because half the gear isn't for sale and the other half is impossible to find when you need it. Quit being selfish and look at it from the point of view of the masses.

Doing dungeons (and trials, for that matter) on normal for the gear, and then simply upgrading from blue to purple or gold is so painfully easy that it does not justify any of the gear being BoP when it rightfully should be BoE.

While it is reasonably affordable to simply buy most overland sets at guild traders (with some expensive exceptions, due to meta crowding), it can be virtually impossible to collect the dungeon sets you are looking for, even after transmutation.

    Some recent examples:

I wanted to get some Overwhelming lightning staves for my sorc from Tempest Isle. There is even a named lightning staff from the end boss, so it should be easy, right? Well, despite maybe 40 runs of the dungeon, I only got the named drop once, and I have addons installed, so I can see that none of my teammates got that drop either. One staff is not enough, so now I have just given up and gone with another set for weapons (one that luckily can be bought since it's an overland set).

I also wanted the Winterborn set for my Warden, which means I will have to farm Maelstrom for days and days to get the right drops. No trading with your team mates here.

And for what? Overwhelming and Winterborn sets? Arguably some of the worst sets in the game? I just want them for fun, but spending days on end just getting them isn't exactly what I would call fun.
Do I have to cling to every dungeon drop just -in case- I might need it eventually down the road?

People are running CoA for hundreds of times for Sunderflame and BSW. I use BSW, but not weapons. Luckily my weapons are a crafted set, if I had gone with, say, BSW and Moondancer or Siroria, I would have had to spend hundreds of runs in normal content as well, just to get the staves needed.

Normal content is so easy to run that it is no excuse to keep these sets bind on pickup, apart from ruining the trading market, and making it excessively hard for anyone to try out a niche set. Who wants to spend the majority of their playing time farming the same content over and over just to try out something niche or non-meta.

The only gear that should be BoP is the epeen gear like vMA weapons, Master weapons and Perfected trial gear.

I did the same thing awhile back. I purchased 2 worm rings and my plan was to sell them to a PvE player that needed them. Then i found out they were BOP. Now I have 4 gold worm rings.

Honestly, I wish they would get rid of BOP items. I enjoyed going to guild traders buying items that I didn't have or never could get but now everything good is BOP.

only if by the masses, you are suggesting 'the masses' are people incapable of forming groups and interacting with other players to complete group content and should just be able to obtain any item in the game simply because. Do you fall into this category?

Sorry but you can't pick and choose what's bop and what's not ..

If you make everything BoE then two things happen. ... No build diversity as everyone will run same sets ... Those that can't get them with be making those who can very very rich ... Gold will lose its value and the economy will die as will the game

BoP keeps a balance to the economy that you may not understand

i didnt know certain items were not tradeable i thought you can trade whateven items with the group you did the dungeon/trials with. But yes the magical prevention ruins the RP if they really are doing that

It's a stupid "mechanic" and always has been in every game. Regular gear from normal dungeons shouldn't be BoP. Only a few people want to "farm" a dungeon possibly dozens of times trying to get a set. I've logged out more times from boredom rather than played longer trying to get what I need.

That's odd. The people usually pushing the "everything should be BoE so we can sell it!" are the traders who are annoyed that they're not allowed to make a profit off literally everything.

That same poster once heckled a thread of mine, celebrating the nerf of vMA/vDSA weapons because they, self-admittedly, were unable to obtain them.

So yes, you are absolutely correct with that analysis lol.
