PS4 NA is on life support

Can someone from zos staff address the fact that it is has been impossible to enjoy the game during prime time the last week and on? Come this event, i guess ill have to retire from eso for the time being. Inb4 the "u have bad connection" bs, i can play fifa flawlessly as soon as eso pisses me off enough

Can lag be and all this be fixed with better hardware or software? Is this a code issue?

Update: server is no longer on life support and is now dead, got a booted from server message now and unexpected errors galore

@generalmyrick id guess eso is badly optimized for consoles, but the server surely plays a big role in how awful the experience has been lately

Ok. I was fantasizing a game that, and i dont know if this is out there because its probably really expensive, that has like super million dollar hardware stuff that makes our game blazing fast.

True is true and the blame lies with ZOS code. Two patches ina row, summerset and on that made cyrodiil totally unplayable.

The 3 pvp guilds I play wiith on ps completely died in july.

Zos is just so poorly run and managed and it will not ever change.

about 2 patches ago my pvp guild lost its best crown to a constant issues with pvp...

@generalmyrick we should get up in game some time. Summerset killed my small group. 3 refuse to support zos and haven't been on eso in a month.

@ZOS_GinaBruno someone must acknowledge this issue, prime time is unplayable, even bgs with 12 players is unbearable, i just quit in the middle of the double ap event to play some other game because the performance is ridiculous

I strongly suspect that the "megaserver" concept has serious flaws that may be mathematically impossible for ZOS to fix. It's been years now - I think if they could have fixed it they would have.

I think the megaserver handles things nicely on normal circunstamces, however ZOS is not oblivious to the fact that a LOT more people play during those events, maybe they should rent extra power for the servers for these 2 weeks?

Have you tried port forwarding or DMZing your connection? Or have you tried putting the PS4 on a static IP?

What do you all consider unplayable? I mean yeah I do get some lag sometimes but I've never gotten anything unplayable in PvP .. I think the worst lag I get is first entering the game my game stutters down to like 10 FPS for about 10 second then it's smooth sailing after that ..

@Mister_DMC i have brazilian internet, 120/10, i know its far from the server, but my point is, the current status is abnormal

@DedEmbryonicCell19 unplayable is screen freezing and then everything moves fast, all the time, no exceptions. Thats exactly how my game is on prime time

I only ever get bad stuff like this in:
-PVP near ZERGs or keeps under siege
-Craglorn (Belkarth only)
-Deshaan (Undaunted Enclave only)
-Auridon Southmost Dolmen
-Alikr full zone

Heavy population is obviously an issue in this game but when I say I get told I'm insane and it has nothing to do with player counts in areas. Yeah, sure, I'm gonna believe that there isn't strain coming from 500 players holding hands while spamming abilities beside wayshrines. Whether the straing is on my connection, the machine, or ZOS servers - the root cause remains, TOO MANY PEOPLE IN ANY GIVEN AREA.

They need to create secondary megaservers for each region, without any progression loss (I.e. chars from NA1 will work on NA2). When population cap of NA1 fills, start dropping people into NA2, but also allow these people to link up for grouping etc., join eachother's servers when needed.

They desperately need to divide the playerbase more, because 99% of the game isn't bad, but the obvious gathering points are hellish cancer onto all of gaming. It's everything to do with too many people congregating in small areas. I don't even bother with Midyear because Cyrodiil is always a mess... now it's just unplayable.

But hey - some good news, if you head over to one of the less visited zones like Reaper's March or Gold Coast you can safely wander around and farm etc. to your hearts content without seeing a single soul and while having stable gameplay.

They also need to disable all dueling within 150m of wayshrines. Among many other small tweaks they could make to have loading become more reliable and less strenuous.

The community gets smaller every day because people get sick of all the issues on consoles... ZoS save us. (Prolly not though)

I left twelve lvl 50 toons and 886 cp behind on PS4 the week after summerset launched and went to PC to start all over. Primetime PVP still gets pretty bad with the lag but other than that performance issues are night and day. After playing on both platforms its become clear to me that MMO PVP on this scale just isn't meant to be played on the current generation of consoles. In this case the grass really is greener on the other side and I'm not looking back.

I dont really have much problems with ps4 NA. "Prime time" depends on where you are. West coast prime time is fine.

I live just outside Silicon Valley and prime time is unplayable for me.

the game is now mid way thru its life cycle. most mmos last 10 years- and here we are at year 4/5. by this stage- they ve "worked out"- that just stringing out a few more DLCS and motifs- and scraping what money is left out of us- is more economically efficient than overhauling the servers and perhaps providing what could have been the best game around. shame.

PS4 NA here. Things have been pretty smooth in Cyrodiil (Sotha Sil). Outside of fighting a few latent players, it’s been much better.
