Help with DPS (Sorc/Magblade)

So I need some assistance. I have two DPS: Sorc (5 BSW, 5 Julianos, 2 Ilambris, 1 VMA inferno
MagBlade (5 Siroria 5 Mother’s Sorrow 2 Skoria 1 VMA inferno)

I can do VMA no problems, and do dungeons and trial with little problem.
My problem is SUSTAIN. I’m having problems on both toons with running out of Magicka quickly.
I do keep up Siphoning
I do use Destro passive for Magic absorb
But I still have problems.
I do run blue (max magic/health) food

Please....any help would be greatly appreciated!

Blue food mag builds require heavy attacks to sustain. Your mag blade shouldnt be having as much trouble as your mag sorc, make sure to allow siphoning strikes to expire before recasting. Non pet mag sorcs have sustain issues. No getting around that really. Perhaps try the gold food from CWC.

I use Witchmother's Potent Brew, Lich set (full set is 5 Lich, 5 Julianos, 2 Ilambris), the occasional heavy attack and basic magicka pot (before I run out) in my rotation. It's rare that I run out of resources. Hope that helps!

Edit: Adding a little more information. All of my armor is Divines and I have spell damage enchants on all my jewelry. My thought is that more DEEPS = fewer spell casts necessary = better resource management. I have magicka glyphs on all my armor, and I sit at about 14k health, 40k magicka and 1200 magicka regen before Witchmother's. Breton, not a vampire.

Witchmother's Potent Brew will help a lot. I run all Magicka enchants on my MagBlade with that gear setup and sit at 17k Health and 41k Magicka because of the health Skoria gives. My MagSorc uses one Health enchant on the chest and sits around 16.4k Health and 40k Magicka. Both around 1400 Magicka recovery with Vampirism and Witchmother's. Also, if you can get the Asylum staff on your Sorc throw a Magicka Drain enchant on it.

Sorc sustainability simply sucks. Heavy attacks are absolutely necessary in actual content. I tend to ignore DPS parses when the player is completely dry on a 3 mil dummy whilst NOT casting 3k wards.

Witchmothers/Clockwork Citrus Filet is the obvious solution. On a mageblade, you can get away with blue food if you have worm, Ele drain, and can pop orbs on cooldown, but that is just not realistic outside of a controlled dummy setting are a really high end raid group. In 4 man dungeons, it wont happen.

I will tell you another trick on mageblade. Run the mage mundus. Thief with bloodthristy traits is meta, but that keeps you magic pool really low. In four man, I like mage with no bloodthirsty. I have over 50k magic with a warhorn, and it really does make a difference. The damage difference is negligible.

On sorc, you just need to time your heavies with offbalance. Unless you are doing a pet/heavy attack build, sorcs are going to struggle with sustain.

pretty simple ... magicka regen enchant on jewels and if necessary use max health + magicka regen blue food

Thank you for the tips guys!
My main problem is not in mobs, bc my executes and Destro skills give me magic back.
My problem is long winded fights like bosses where there aren’t adds to kill

    Really only two options.
You can sacrifice some damage to put on a set with better recovery, including adding a recovery enchant to a piece of jewelry.
Or toss in more heavy attacks into your rotation. A lot more.

I hear ya OP ;) Having the same issue. (And very similar setup like you)

On my Sorc I run Citrus Filet and 1 recovery enchant on a jewel. If you catch an orb here and there, you should be ok. In case there is no ele drain (outside trials) change the frontbar flame/shock enchant for absorb magica. Otherwise I can't sustain a dummy test with light attack rotation.

On Magblade, Citrus Filet aswell, but no need for a recovery enchant. The rest same as Sorc depending on the situation as said above ;) But way better sustain as my Sorcy...

Still testing stuff…. keeping an eye on this discussion!

In short tho, Zos please buff Sorc sustain

How are you getting 50k on NB? Would love that on mine, lol. The only way I can get close would be necro and shade active, or a procced pet monster set. Both of which interrupt my style ofplay.

    Thanks in advance.

Somebody should be putting up Ele Drain on the boss. If not the healer, then you should be doing it. This will grant magicka back when you light attack. Along with witchmother's brew, I also use tri-stat potions. These are the potions that give you all 3 resources and increase regen of all 3. If you have a templar in the group, they should be dropping shards. Also, don't forget using heavy attacks (put some points into Arcanist and Tenacity in the CP tree.)

WItchmothers Potent Brew, and use heavy attacks in your rotation, rotation is the biggest thing. I never use elemental drain because frankly I have never needed to. I do 2 heavy attacks & 4 light in my rotation and almost never run out of magicka even while applying 5 DoT skills and CC'ing. I get about 27~32k dps single target without any maelstrom weapons.

Edit: I also have nothing but spellpower enchants on jewels.

Food is absolutely the most efficient means of achieving more magicka regen. Use CWC Filley / Witchmother's over blue food if you need more sustain.

Glyphs are sub-par pretty much always, you should add in a heavy attack when you need to instead. Generally a rotation has a space where you do 2-3 spammables in a row, just heavy attack then instead if your magicka is under 50% or so.
