PC/NA Vivec is already lagging people out

I've gotten an express re-logon to gate in the past hour of trying to play Vivec.

Why have these events if all they do is make the pvp part of the game unplayable for those few of us left who enjoy it? We deal with the lag at prime time and try to make the best of it, now it's 24x7.

The game is in an extremely shameful state. At this point Cyrodiil is just not playable. I just can not feel good about supporting a game that is so poorly managed and indifferent to the players(customers). And has been for quiet some time.
Unless you like skyrim Barbie (dress-up) , this game just won't fit the bill. People that like to match skill in PVP are limited in so many ways, unbalanced class , abilities ,and proc sets are one thing, but now the person with the better ping is the winner.
Sad really.

Wish we could just pick up the pvp event scroll without going to cyrodiil... I just want to use the scroll and do battlegrounds, but to pick it up the quest points me to cyrodiil

This is kinda stupid for both gameplay and server stress.

PS: I'm EU though.

ITS ALMOST LIKE WE HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS CRAP SINCE 1.3 AND 900 PLAYERS IN MY FRIENDS LIST HAVENT QUIT OVER IT.

THEY CANNOT. OR WILL NOT. FIX IT.

Could look at it another way too though, I see most guilds/players sticking to the normal campaign they run in. So they will wait in Vivec ques or Sotha Sil ques over trying one of the new campaigns. Locked campaigns will be laggy, especially during this event. I was in Shor a few minutes ago and it was starting to get laggy because the pop bars were filling.

I do agree though that this will be difficult tonight and this event was hard last year, I had to do it on my lowbie just to get my boxes. I am gonna try to get this on my main but I have a fear I will be jumping from character to character and campaign to campaign just to get some AP and boxes. (good thing I have 15 characters lol)

@Shadowmaster I don't think they can fix it. They tried to run an experiment a long time ago to try to isolate the issue and said more "tests" would happen but they never did. I think they know the issue and it's quite unfixable. I remember back in the days of Wabba and Auriels Bow how many players played and how populated PvP was but I am not sure we will get those days back. Something close would be nice but I don't know.

Last year, Vivec got unplayable for me mid morning. I already moved to Shor, that's why there are other campaigns.

You guys need to have more patience. Betas are for developers to stress test their game before it goes live. Give them a chance to improve things so that, in the long run, we can all enjoy a playable PvP experience.

That's where the new players who only want to complete the achievements should go, not the regulars. Vivec and Sotha Sil should be locked during the event.

Also have to keep in mind that some guilds who run in those campaigns and call it home but maybe only twice a week probably are running in it all during this event. So it's not just new players jumping in PvP… it's guilds who might not run in PvP all the time who changed some weekly events around in order to take advantage of mid-year.

I went ahead and loaded up a non-mmorpg fps shooter I haven't played in a while cause I've been too busy playing ESO. I also filed a support ticket asking them to suspend my ESO Plus for 11 days, I should not have to pay for a service they are incapable of providing.

Just tried three times to log in. When I FINALLY got in, I ported to Fare, and no skills would fire off (even though I could still hear everyone in my group). DC’ed for the fifth time since the event started, and decided to turn off my PlayStation. At first, I was kind of annoyed that the first day of the event would be marred by having to go to work this afternoon/evening...but it really, really isn’t.

I wish Vivec could be closed off to people who don’t PvP regularly.

Many of us bought the game because of the advertised pvp and big battles.

That's not the point. This is a PVP event, so it stands to reason that the people who PVP all the time, who work hard in certain campaigns, who love PVP content all want to actually be able to PVP during an event that's all about PVP.

I understand the frustration of PVPers who can't PVP during a PVP event thanks to the many, many players who don't normally PVP rushing to the campaigns.

But I also agree with you to a degree. Midyear Mayhem isn't just about PVP for the PVPers. Its about getting as many players to try PVP as possible, to have fun, and to fill the campaigns. I want Midyear Mayhem to be welcoming to PVPers and PVEers alike. If only the servers and campaigns could support that.

Once the campaigns settle down and the lag isn't so bad, hopefully it will get easier for both PVPers and PVEers.
