Linking Accounts

So I linked my PC account to my Xbox account and was wondering what that actually does? I have been playing ESO since the first Beta and have bought both Morrowind and Summerset expansions. I log into my Xbox game and I have the very minimum account level. I do not have Morrowind (thought it was part of base game now) and do not have Summerset. I also do not have any preorder things like mounts or imperial edition from PC.
So is there any benefit to linking accounts other than not needing to make a new account?

This is a pain I would love for it to carry over. Everything is separate, you have to buy everything again when you jump to either a new system or the PC. I wish i could port my toon to the PC life would be much easier with all the add-on they have. I understand why they wont allow it, the systems dont want to lose players, or have people jump back and forth.

I understand that it is a business and all but I think it is silly that I have paid for the game and expansions but in order to play on another platform I have to pay for it all again. I am fine with having nothing else port over like CP or characters its just the whole fact that we basically have to buy everything again.

It's not ZOS that's blocking server transfers. They have agreements with Microsoft and Sony that they have to honor. It's also Sony and Microsoft that are actively "blocking" the use of addons on those platforms. Complaining to ZOS about not being able to use addons on consoles is pointless. They have no control.

This actually makes sense to me. Creating a game for multiple platforms means having (and maintaining) separate versions of the game. If you want to switch platforms, you'll need to purchase the new "version" of the game. I don't think I've seen ANY games offer unrestricted "transfers" between platforms. Servers, yes; but not platforms.
