Catapults now have their area damage persist in the world for 8 seconds after impact, resulting in better area denial.
For example, a meatbag catapult will leave an area of healing reduction and damage over time for 8 seconds, instead of just applying those effects on impact to players in the area.
Increased the Ballista damage versus Siege weapons by approximately 17%.
Reduced the Ballista damage versus players by 10%.
Particularly the catapult lingering on the ground change?

    I'm not much a group player, so, yeah - I like it...gives me a better chance of solo defending keeps from atop the inner keep second floor...

    set up a meatball and scattershot and you can slow bad guys up a bit to allow for allies to come help defend...

    In no CP it’s too damn much. You can hold out a whole raid without even fighting. The damage is so high that if you walk over the ground aoe you just explode for well over your health amount. It just becomes a stalemate until one team finally out sieges the other. I do like that it requires more effort to break into keeps but it needs to be toned down in no CP. It remains to be seen how balanced it is in CP campaigns.

    It's absolutely brutal in No-CP. I figured I would put up a poll as there has been enough time to digest the changes and they are about to bring it to CP-land.

    I see what and why as to the idea behind it. But it's like they forgot that they decreased the space you can pack siege into, so what you get is any defended siege having 8 stacks of catapult ground effects you have to walk through. That's when you can actually see all 8 of them, which you likely can't.

    I saw it last night, so many catapults at mile gate that the entire "sieging" area turned into a pink purple blob.

    Anyways, being they are ramping up production of crappy red circles to the CP levels... I'm sure it's a well thought out decision.

    Yes--but the scattershot cluster-blender is a little overkill in big fights. Catapults could use a longer reload or something so a single cata doesn't have 110% uptime.

    They have reduced the duration of the ground AoE from 8 sec. to 4.5 sec. on the PTS. So changes are coming.

    Yes I love the changes.

    A lot of no cp players say no but I only play no cp and am really happy with the changes. Raids just charging in before was so annoying, at least now they have to actually try.

    Honestly it feels much more balanced now. Siege should hit hard. It should feel like you're on the edge of your seat when getting hit by siege, not a walk in the park like the previous versions. And it empowers solo players to feel like they are making a difference. Organised groups can still manage but not without careful timing and tactics.

    All in all a good change I think.

    no. abosolutly game breaking for players that don't want to sit behind siege. Zergs get wiped at doors for 30 min straight because of the pve damage stacking the entrance. People running 1-2 scatter shots and meat bags each not just in keeps for defense but offense and open field as well. this siege patch has catered to really passive game play for people that don't want to actually player vs player. I play all forms of pvp: solo, zerg surfing, coordinated 8-12 man groups... and siege will always win. a little insane that you cant mitigate this damage enough to survive and it all stacks up. scattershots making cold stone trebs hit for 15k...… I understand siege is important for defending keeps but PS4 NA is insane rn with it. feelsbad getting pve'd to death in pvp

    A big problem is that there's no way to remove the persisting AOEs. The solution? Give Purge the ability to dispel them.
