I began grinding only, ignoring quests, hoarding equipment, speed running dungeons, skipping through voice-acting dialogues. What’s is the psychology behind this?

There is no point to doing the same quest more then once, that's the point.

There is, since some of them has more than one endings.

Thats like 3 quests in the whole game. :D

I've done as many pve and pvp quests as I could with my first 3 characters. Simply because I thought the achievement dyes isn't account-wided, I was so wrong...

The 1st one is definitely the best gameplay experiences I got in game, but due to that 2nd and 3rd characters (experienced same contents again and again) won't do any charm to me. So right now once new content released, I only do it with my main character, but I won't do it with my rest of characters. (Unless it needs shadow rider passive from dark brotherhood).

cuz everyone is in a rush for whatever reason. In a dungeon for example you have to keep up so you start going faster with the group, and from here you get the momentum

That is one of the reasons I don't group up with people, I want to play the game, not a running simulator.

I admit, i was in Auridon the other day listening to the music and I almost started to cry. It reminded me of what I first started to play ESO and how fun it was to not worry about BIS, or leveling or gear. It was just wonder and excitement and new. No guilds, no chats. Just me exploring Auridon for the first time on ESO and enjoying it.

    I miss those days.

Personally, I have never found a lot of reply value in PVE questing. I take my time with every quest the first time, but after that, I only do what I need to do to prepare a character for end game. The reason I have 15 toons is not because I want to play the game through 15 times. I want options to play end game content in different ways and to be able to adapt to a changing meta.

The first time I randomly stumbled on a set station and learned I could do that, same sense of amazed wonder. No YouTube tips or exploits or studying to maximize, just discovering...that was the best.

      This.

I did not grind my first character at all, and I would not go back. Rushing gets you nowhere except doing the same repetitive daily grind that all other end game players do. Rushing to 160 does nothing except allows you to play in peace with players you wouldn't want to play with anyway since they would give you trouble for being less than 160.

I'm of the mindset that if you want to grind your duplicate characters up, go for it, but your first run through you should ALWAYS enjoy the content. There is so much exploration, studying, dungeons, trials, PVP, just... SO MUCH CONTENT in this game. Speed clicking through everything is like pressing fast-forward on a movie to watch the last 5 minutes. It misses the point.

Hard work....when people live in peace and prosperity for long time, they start to think that achieving something by playing games is" hard work" lol.

Trust me, you are not alone in that line of thinking. I often wonder how many folks know what "hard work" actually is whenever I see this line used.

I'm in no rush to do anything in game really, I'm just a big kid enjoying their time in a mostly enjoyable theme park. My end game is everything, pvp, dungeons, trading, picking flowers, fishing, etc. Looking forward to this pvp event coming up, the sewers are gonna be rocking!

To the EP zerg that rolled me and my mini zerg last Saturday, we're coming back for you on sat. Hope you guys are still doing your sewer Saturday night romps, it's gonna be fun!

The psycology is this. too much theme park in a linear enviroment with medicor RPG elements . go to disneyland and ride space mountain. the first time it fin and exciting the fifth time you would rather go to the beer line and hope cinderellas skirt slips down .

Because people only care about the best gear, pvp and how good their dps is. No one is unique, and they can't be because being unique and having your own playstyle will not help you when it comes to the meta.

Thats what ESO has become. You've got to be a robot.

Once thoroughly was enough for me, leveling is not so bad, but I can't find the motivation to do the world tour for mages or skyshards. I liked it all the first time but not enough to do it all repetitively.

This is the reason, some people like to replay games over, and over again. I Did it once thats enough, I dont need to go through all of it again for the same thing. I just rather grind and get shards for skill points.

Usually I focus on attaining max level in any game I play first. In this case would be CP 160, because then you wouldn't have to worry about getting that awesome piece of gear...lv.21. Would help if ZOS removed level from gear since it's a bit obsolete with scaling. Most other MMOs being high level means lots of unlocks to content, scaled and better rewards. Once I'm maxed, using only grind of other non-content methods, I finally dive into the questing and ***, getting the best rewards, taking my time enjoying without rush. I won't be missing dungeons, pve and pvp groups.

      This is everything!

But really I think it all comes down to personal preference, and also a sense of self discipline (or lack thereof, depending on your view).

I personally am not the type to rush my chars. Even though I have been playing since launch, I currently only have 3 CP chars out of 11 - and I am still not at max CP (although I'm getting close). And the reason for me, is because I am simply not able, nor do I want to, put that much energy into so many chars. I tend to only play on one char at a time (depending on my mood at the time), and will go in full completionist mode when doing so.

I like spending time on getting to know my chars, and make different quest decisions , because I am a roleplayer at heart - which will always take precedence.

Some good advice I was given was to slow down once you hit cp 160.

I was chopping characters and restarting when they were in their 20's, until I decided that I was going to finish a character. I then sped through to level 50 and then cp160, although not anywhere near the speed of others.

I have just got to cp 600 this week, having bought the game in April last year. I don't know if that makes me fast or slow:)

As a poet, i find the story line not so gripping but i do want to pay attention to it at least one time through with everything for one character. I took some time off of that before finishing all the content to try and make some other toons. I have 9 in all and 5 are cp. I'm at 646 something. 4 others are waiting their turn again and are at least lvl 20. And when i finish those i'll move on to 2 more, as by then i'll have one of each race and two Khajiit. Before that happens though, the game might not be around.

i find the racing incredible rude. Not everyone has the ability to race through a dungeon and if you have a team member who isn't racing through it then the ones that do really ruin the experience for them

Because everything in this game is a grind. I don't know about you but I surely don't want to finish leveling my alts in 2025. There's already enough grinding and farming as it is with gear, crafting, mounts, etc. I'm not gonna waste time when I'm leveling alts and their trees.

If you think this is a grind, really you don't know. This is not at all a grind.
