MagSorc PvP build; since a lot of people have been asking (NOT good for new players to MagSorc)

ItsNebula

Just going to make it quick and simple since its also on my YouTube;

Sets; x2 Engine Guardian (Monster), x5 Axiom (x3 Body x1 Inferno Staff), x5 Necro (x3 Jewerly x2 body), x2 Willpower (Sword and Shield) - Heavy Helm, Medium legs

Traits; Infused on big, divines on small. Max Mag all. Nirn Inferno, Infused Shield, Defending Sword. Wep dmg on Inferno, Mag on Shield, Sword doesnt matter, we run drain mag/stam posions.
x3 Spell dmg on jewerly.

Food; Ghastly Eye Bowl (Max Mag, Mag Recov - NO MAX HP)

Mundus; The Mage (Max Magicka)

Pots; Tri-stat

Stats buffed; 3.1k Spell dmg, 38% spell crit, 9.2k spell pen, 1449 mag recov (no pot), 51k Mag Back bar, 47k Mag front bar. 17k HP, 11.2k Stam.

Skills; FB) Endless Fury, Rune Cage, CFrag, Curse, Crushing Shock, Ice Comet... BB) Streak, Harness Mag, Hardned Ward, Power Surge, Dark Conversion.

*FAQ*

Why Sword/Shield? - Without SnB, we couldnt sustain with 1400 mag recov. It just wouldnt be possible. Heavy attacks give us STAM back, allowing for near infinite stam, which also means infinite magicka because of dark conversion.
ALSO!! It gives us the 2p of willpower (yes resto does too but....) the indused shield gives us 1041 MORE magicka than resto would. Better shields overall. (Harness allows for us to sustain too when being zerged down because MAG BUILDS! <3 )

Why Engine Guardian? - It procs our necro, its about a 70% uptime i would say. It procs A LOT, and when it does... we hit like a TRUCK. Fully buffed CFrag tooltip is 18.2k.. its INSANE.
Also, its our sustain. If it gives us Stam, we can just dark up for mag.. gives us Mag? Even better. Just do 1-2 heavy attacks to get stam back. NP!

Can i run this in BG's? - Yes, you can, however, it works best WITH CP.

Can i duel in this? - No, this build is NOT meant for dueling. However, against your average dueler, you can still usually win. Against better players tho you will struggle.. at least against stam toons.

Why Axiom? - It gives us both Max Mag and Max Stam, while giving 400 MORE spell dmg to our class abilites.. as a MagSorc, ALL of our dmg skills are class abilites (Other than Crushing and Ice Comet) Without Axiom, you would be at 9.5k stam. Axiom is just to good to not want to run. Easy to craft too. Only 2 traits required.

If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

I was thinking of trying axiom on the front (with willpower jewels and lich back) - but too low in mats (and interest on the class at the mo to try)..

Sounds like a solid build, although I think I'd prefer resto for a bit of rapid-regen to counter sloads.

Used that drink for a while - bis for magsorc imho (if you don't mind taking the odd 1-shot gank while riding)

Too add to this, dark conversion works wonders against sloads because of the health boost or if the eg procs health.

Instead of streak I use ball of lightning. Makes for some good cover from ranged interrupts while i convert stam to magcika if there is no cover to be behind.

    Just my two cents ^_^

Streak and BoL are both amazing, it honestly comes down to a preference. Personally I enjoy streak because if my group and I see another group tightly packed, I’ll pop ice comet, streak through them and start spamming endless while the other drop DBs, Leap etc. but BoL is amazing for getting away, and trying to get to a vantage without taking any extra dmg / range CC

I much prefer bol, but then I don't use IG. I find, when fighting against it, IG takes all the hits when your opponent is kiting/fleeing, making bol a bit redundent - so streak is probably better for an IG build.

personally, I found Dark Conversion to be enough to counter Sloads. A full tick of Sloads is 5.8k, dark conversion heals us for 4K , then power surge also gives us a good little chunk of health back on crit. Having multiple Sloads on you can be a pain, but LOSing then using dark gets the job done imo.

See I love streak, its response time is much faster than bol. I just dislike all the range interrupts coming my way during an escape, but as you know @ItsNebula , I sure do love me invis pots as a sorc when we pvp together :P

not good for new players to play the class which outclasses all classes?

you want new people to play on hard mode?

MagSorc does not "out class all classes"

If anything that would be a NB.. the class has everything you could ever want. Heavy StamBlade with TK in the right hands is near unkillable unless you zerg him down hard, and can throw out insane amounts of damage.

The MagSorc meta is s'it imo. Doesnt throw out enough damage, and is already kinda squishy. Idek why its the meta, when theyre many other builds better than its. (Shackle, Lich, Domi and Groth/Infernal)

Templars can cleanse 2 huge burst factors on MagSorcs.. Curse and Endless. Without those 2 the combo on MagSorc is useless.

DK's can reflect the MagSorcs main damage skill, CFrags. And a GOOD DK can just tank the damage.

NB's can keep super easy, and super high pressure on the sorc, causing him to stay on the defensive, spamming shields, not doing damage on the offensive.

Wardens... dont even get me started. Shimmering eats up crushing shock and cfrags, Wardens have all of the good and wanted minor/major buffs, while having really good burst and being really tanky.. WHILE having out standing healing.

MagSorc again, does not "Out class all classes" lmfao

I don't understand why you are playing Axiom.
It doesn't buff your light attacks and ice comet. With Julianos your skills have 100 less spell damage, but light attacks and ice comet would have 300 more.
Ok, you can play with the atronach, but nevertheless i would prefer Julianos.

Axiom gives 400 more spell dmg to our Cfrags, Endless, Curse and Rune cage. 4 things that are NEEDED for the burst combo.
Axiom also gives us Stam, unlike Juli. Without Axiom, youre at less than 10k, which is very, VERY hard to do with on a Mag toon.
With this build were running 11.2k stam, which is already still pretty low for a Mag toon, but we can make it work out BECAUSE of Sword/Shield

And ive done lots of testin with a friend of mine that is also a MagSorc main, whom is also a very skilled MagSorc. We both ran the EXACT build, same passives, traits, gear quality everything, you name it. Only difference was, he ran Juli i ran Axiom.
I beat him every single time other than 2 times where i let my shields drop on accident and he took advantage of that.
    We dueled a total of 10 times, i won 8, lost 2.
Imo, hes a better MagSorc than i am, i like to think of myself as a pretty damn good MagSorc

1,2k more max.stamina decide on victory or defeat? I really don't believe that, especially because of engine guardian.
If you usually do a light attack before the skills, i really think, Julianos is better.

But ok, it's your build, I have to accept that!

EG doesnt always proc stam, i ended him killing him because he couldnt break free from Rune cage.
Light attack dmg doesnt really add much, our tooltips for frags were a pretty good difference too

On my mag sorc I run 5x necro, 5x lich (back bar), 2x shadowrend and willpower (front bar).

Infused with tri-stat glyphs on big pieces, inpen with magicka enchants on small pieces.

With tri-stat buff food I get around 23.5k health, 41k magicka (46k with shadowrend) and 16k stamina. When Lich procs magicka regen goes up to 3.3k so sustain is really good.

Shadowrend is very useful on a mag sorc, it procs on CD activating necro, deals dmg, applies minor maim and has 1pc magicka regen bonus. Its a lot better than Engine Guardian because there’s no RNG or health regen bonus involved.

EG imo would still be the better option. Procs more and gives good sustain, so you can drop lich.
I run 1449 mag recov and its rare that i ever run outta magicka AND stam, even in 1vX situations.
Fully buffed (With continuous) im able to get a 19.4k CFrag tooltip, which is almost as much as a leap, which is an ult.
Not as tanky as someone would be with shadowrend bc im missing out on the minor maim, but i def throw out way more damage.

EG is also a AMAZING LOS tool, once you learn how to use EG for LOS, itll be hard to be hit, my EG has ate up so many meteors, leaps, rune cages, CC's, frags, chains anything you name it. Its saved my a** so many times

New players also cant sustain with 1400 recov while landing out insane burst, deleting people before they can blink once.

New players are almost required to go with Lich because they cant sustain with there mag.

I run Axiom on my Templar (For the same reasons) but I opt to run DW with it as it doesn't benefit any destro abilities or it's la's - Do you not lose a lot for having a set basically not contribute to your spammable/la's?

I had thought about Axiom on my sorc but opted against it for that exact reason, without ever actually testing it.

Shackle paired with Alteration Mastery, 1 domi, 1 maw, with tri-stat food. 18K stamina and cheap dodge rolls and overall very good sustain. 3.5K+ spell damage fully buffed, 40K magicka with Tri-stat food, 42K magicka and 15K stamina with bi-stat food. And because of the added sustain of Alteration Mastery, I can run all spell damage glyphs and the Apprentice.

Hits like a truck, sustains very well. It is the build I am currently running and being able to dodge roll and CC break for cheap and on command is a life saver.

The only change I plan on making is adding the new ultimate based monster set to the build in the next patch.

    You really dont lose much.
Especially since on how hard our curse, endless and frags hits alone.
Like hell, our tooltip on CFrags is 19.4k (Fully buffed + Continuous Attack) most people only get low-mid 18k's on CFrags.

Plus axiom also gives us the extra stam which is nice, but i really i run it for the extra 400 spell damage on our main combo skills.. Rune Cage, CFrags, Endless Fury and Curse
