What platform are you on? Cyrodiil is working again for me and many others on PS4 NA. The usual lag and frame rate loss during big battles is still there, but no more game-breaking freezes (some occasional micro freezes, but nothing you can’t recover from within a second or two).

don't let yourself get too frustrated with the other players...

you're going to die, sometimes it may not even be a result of you making an error...it's okay, check your death recap, rez, and go back at it again...

find a group, make sure you have your shielding and healing down rotation wise...make sure to use block when possible...

learn to read the map, quickslot potions, use siege, slot rapids to move from keep to keep...

I'm going to add this here. If you are on PC/NA, and AD, and want to go out to Cyro with me, let me know. I only started last year during this event, because I had massive anxiety about PvP. But it turns out that I super love it, and pretty much only PvP now. I get the whole being anxious or nervous thing, and would like to offer to help anyone else that may be wanting to check it out but could use someone friendly as a buffer. I'll take anyone out there with me, just let me know and we can make a plan

I'm PC/EU and I play a terribad pet stamsorc orc who insists on using two handed weapons and two handed weapons only. I do acceptably in PVE mainland content and don't mind using pretty much the opposite of a recommended build except - hah ! - midyear mayhem's motifs and furniture blueprints may or may not be making that a concern.

(not enough that I'd change, mind you, but enough that I'm wondering how the heck i'm gonna manage x) )

Last year I was a running AP zombie. I was soooo tired of AP grinding I had to take a break after the event.

Don't do what I did. I spent a million AP on BOP jewelry I already had, thinking I could sell it.

dude! i sucked at it too! i probably still do! it's still fun as hell. you don't even have to "try to do any of it". take this opportunity to get in there while it's being flooded with other PvP noobs and plenty of people with worse reaction times than you, and go get yours! this is like, if you suck, nobody's gonna notice because most people suck. now's the time to try it out, no pressure! and you might find out it's a fun playstyle for you.

most of the folks in there during the holiday aren't in full Impen heavy PvP gear, they're curious folks just like you, hoping to have fun and get cool stuff. plus, there are people like me, who totally get it but also have a tiny bit of experience, who will welcome you and show you the ropes and then know how to go create adventures with your help.

PVE, that means you got gold, right ?

Buy a bunch of Wall and Door repair kits. They sell them at your alliance home base, keeps, and resources.

Turn on “view resource percentages” under game options. Walk around keeps , hover over walls and doors, spam repair. Especially when under attack or immediately after.

By the way - major and minor mending effects your keep repairs.

When not repairing , buy fire ballistas for gold, hangout atop walls, aim at enemy Zerg - especially their siege. Slot siege shield once you unlock it and have health potions ready.

Heal your friends. Move out of red. To defend outposts ( eg Sejamus) - buy oil pots and set them up immediately above the outpost door. Oil pots OP.

It's okay to suck, cause if you surf a Zerg you'll still get some good AP ticks if you let everyone else do most of the heavy lifting. Believe me, my own Alliance says I'm trash but I can still down players and earn tens of thousands of AP a night.
