Any idea what causes the long load times after character selection that occasionally occur?

Since last week's update, I occasionally get 3 and 4 minute loading screens immediately after character selection on one of the computers that I play the game.

Doesn't seem to be an issue on the wired computer, but on my upstairs one connected over wifi, this has been happening alot this past week. The connection is pretty good and hasn't been a problem for this before or with any other games, so I'm not sure.

Anyone else having this problem, or know what the cause might be? Anyway to fix it? Like maybe too many add on's, lowering settings, or anything else?

I have always experienced a long load time the first time coming in after a new patch.

new patches, addons(shut my mastermerchant off and i get in fairly quick)

This started happening to me right after Dragons bones dropped on Xbox NA. The requesting character load time is horribly long. Doing daily mount training/writs takes much longer now than it used to. Very annoying.

Ditto. XBox One X same issue at Character Load Screen. After I select which one to load into I get a 4-5 minute load screen, or disconnect (Whichever is greater! )

After a patch, there are extended login times.

However, gaming and wifi are two things that should never go together. Even if it does work one day, no gurantee it will work the next. A neighbor could have tuned their AP to use the same frequency, someone could have bought a new something that is puking all over your spectrum. There could people latching onto your AP. Even if there are no RF issues, wireless performance sucks compared to wired on gaming. Not that i have a strong opinion about this or anything.

That being said, addons can have a huge impact on log in times. I know my alts have some differences in loadouts. However this is easy to test, just disable them and see how it goes.

Knocking out a few add on's definitely helped the problem last night, but its still a bit annoying when it was working so well for months.
