stuck in dark flare casting animation

Since the latest patch, my templar has had issues with casting animations. specifically dark flare.
i was in artaeum and cast it once fine, 2nd cast he stays in the animation and nothing appears to go off. using another ability doesnt break it, but clicking weapon swap breaks it, then he goes through all the animations of the casts i tried to do. this pattern repeated more than once.
Theres no indications of lag. Things are moving around the screen correctly, players and npc's. high fps, no increase in ping. And i havent noticed this with any of my other toons.
this has only been last 2 days.
