Why all new costumes and motifs needs to dye so horribly?

Old costumes and motifs dye much better, colors are more intense.
Not gonna mention that a lot of parts of new costumes can't bye even dyed, or no matter what dye you use, difference is very small (Balmora costume for example).
Here are examples, all dyed with Coldharbour Black dye (sorry for potato screenshot quality):

rJckCiX.jpg

I don't know why ZOS decided to make everything "washed off", but I really don't like this design, and I'd like to have my outfits dyed with intense colors, like the old ones in the past.
I wish team that designs motifs and costumes would see this feedback. @ZOS_GinaBruno

I bought the queen-spy costume and it dyes horribly too. They must be doing it on purpose so you don't get satisfied with the result in order to buy more.

Or they want us to buy dye stamps, which are usually more intense that achievement dyes...

I’m guessing whoever used to do the dye channels in the old costumes has left the company. Whoever is doing it now either isn’t taking the time to adjust the tint maps for dyeing or doesn’t know how.

I think the new costumes and outfit motifs have more details in them, maybe they dye differently in order to show the details more clearly?

I got the Queen spymaster costume too, when using a crown store dye stamp it dyes the whole costume one colour apart from the sleeves and neck cuff.

When using an outfit station it does this too, I feel that the boots should have the same dye channel as the sleeves and neck in order to bring some contrast..

Also something has happened to the Coldharbour Ash Black dye, it now looks green grey on my system.. not the delicious flat black that it was..

Arena Gladiator Costume. It goes live with the next dlc, in exchange for 50 Arena Gladiator Proofs and an Arena Gladiator’s Exultation.

The day I buy a temporary dye stamp is the day I quit life.

If they gave me the option to buy dyes(not premade stamps) however.
Although those would probably be prohibitively expensive.

I've noticed this with everything since Clockwork City. I have to wonder if someone left the dev team that they haven't been able to replace, or replaced with someone with less texturing experience. I very much hope that this will improve with practice and then be retroactively repaired because it is deterring me from buying most new costumes, especially anything metallic. I would've picked up the new fancy armor but not with the way it dyes.

So much this. I don't understand why some parts of the same costume will dye well, but others go weird colours, and yeah the fact that some parts can't be dyed at all. I rarely buy costumes now because of being continuously disappointed. A lot of the sections just come out muddy or faded. I'm hoping this isn't because of the stupid dye stamps, or paving the way for crown-only dyes. It's just another thing that isn't as much fun as it used to be.

To be fair, it depends on the shade. Julianos White is usually a very vivid, crisp white. Usually. It’s the only thing I’ve been able to pair with the Holiday in Balmora costume that actually looks good.

But yeah, costumes/motifs in general these days dye terribly. I was excited to get the Pyandorean motif, and was sorely disappointed with the way it dyed. Coldharbour Ash Black is a washed out greeny-grey on it. Other dyes that are usually similarly deep and vivid are about five shades lighter than they should be.

I’ve noticed that a lot of new costumes/motifs also have a slightly metallic sheen to them. They aren’t nice and shiny the way other older metallic costumes/motifs are, though. Very muted. See the Ashlander motif, for instance. Or the Divine Prosecution motif, which is frankly terrible in the way that it dyes. The washed out effect is most apparent when you try to use a shiny red, which comes out looking pink.

Seriously, that motif would look so good if you could actually dye it black. :( I don’t have Legate’s Black yet, and it will be a while before I reach that rank, but I suspect even Legate’s Black will look grey on it.

I think that has to do with whether or not the fabric is intended to be leather, cloth, or plate. Julianos White looks great on cloth and plate, not so much on leather. :( I do agree that it would be nice if leathers dyed just as well as cloth.

Its not even the new costumes/outfits that it dyes green/grey on now.. my old costumes all look like this now...

Yes it was a flat black with little detail in it but it added a sense of mystery to an outfit.. now the outfits/costumes just look like a swampy mess..

I’ve noticed the greenish tinge on some costumes (Elven Hero immediately springs to mind), though not all of them. Either way, something definitely changed with that black. :( At least it still looks nice and solid on things like Mercenary heavy.

I've checked Legate Black on new costumes and motifs from PTS, still washed off the same way as Coldharbour Black...

Not only do the vast majority of costumes and motifs released these days dye absolutely horribly, but they more often than not look like they've been drenched in oil/had a latex treatment.

The dye stamps still look lousy on most of the new costumes, so I feel like it's more a matter of them using different/newer/'fancier' materials & surfaces on costumes to make the base version look a certain way.

...honestly, I feel like the dye stamps just look lousy, period. They're odd combinations of colors in strange organizations. The only ones I've used were the free ones that came from levelup bonuses. And those were so terrible they certainly didn't give any motivation to buy more.

They change it somehow... I used ebony shadow motif and before dragon bones it dyed black (black ash Coldharbour) but after that patch, it dyes brown-ish with the same dye. I will not talk about balmora costume... :#
