A sparring dummy with features would complement dueling extremely well

You could have:

A difficulty scale

An option to equip different set combinations

An option to select the class you want to spar against

An option to select what skills might be used

An option to practice as a group or a solo player.

This would be great for encouraging pvp by reducing the frustration level of first timers who are gonna melt before the sun is out.

Just a thought.

Or just ask friends/guildies to come with the class and gear combo you want, and practice on them.

    That's not very practical

At first thought this was an idea for Target Dummies that fight back to really test your PvE parse. But nope, moar PvP.

I guess this would be helpful though, but then there's another crossroads. If you make the Dummy less powerful so the new player can safely practice their PvP rotation, then they're gonna get a false sense of security, and expect the same level of difficulty from veteran PvP tryhards they'll encounter. If you make the Dummy as powerful as a player, complete with custom rotations and A.I. capable of reading the fight and making choices based on variables such your current health and what skills you've used on it, then the average new player would just keep getting rekt by the Dummy instead of players.
