• NA megaservers for maintenance – March 5, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 11:00AM EST (16:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for maintenance – March 5, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 16:00 UTC (11:00AM EST)
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – March 6, 6:00AM EST (11:00 UTC) - 4:00PM EST (21:00 UTC)

No more "festivals" pls!

"Yeah, the server is down - overload due the festival event"
"This lag is just because of the event, you know - too many players"
"I know its unplayable now, but it will be better after the event is over"
"Some players have issues logging in... " - yeah, they dont state its cause of overload due ongoing festival
...

Does this feel familiar?

Hey ZOS, since you dont want to fix those issues or upgrade infrastructure - why not cancel all those events at all?
In my experience, the gain of 1-2 festival items or achievements is clearly outweighted by the trouble those overload-situations cause at the servers. Not being able to login. Constand endless loading screens. Lag here, lag there...

    where abouts u live ? I never had any problems with logging in, only a bit of lag. Thats here in australia and im used to having 300ish ping all the time. How much ping is lag for you?

    I like events in MMO, it makes game more alive and interesting.

    But unfortunately events in ESO are always lag fest... I can't wait for Midyear Mayhem but I know that I will have a lot of issues during this event (long queue times to campaigns, infinite loading screens, crashes)...
    ZOS can't do much, they won't upgrade their servers in near future...

    Agree. Plus events usually completely destroy a market for the related items.

    The last events slaughtered any value for Witchmother Potent Brew, Camoran Throne and then we had this looong event where most motifs became basically free.

    It's OK to have a "moderate" and "well planned" amount of freebies and prices drops, but when you make hard to grind 40k motifs become worth 4k then it's not fun or fine any more.

    I have a great connection, and normaly i get like 50-80ms latency and a smooth look and feel in game.

    An example?

    This weekend, we wanted to go nCR+2.
    Spikes of 500-800ms latency.
    Gryphon Bosses frozen in mid-air for about 6-8 seconds several times - just hovering there, idle like an spaceship.
    Synergies for Portal and Orbs take about 3 seconds to appear and another 2 seconds to be used.
    And the Sloads aoe-bomb in the Portal hits such way: You see the aoe-animation. Ofc you have no way to escape as the synergy for the Jump doesn't appear in time, so you go with shields. You hear the bomb exploding. You walk the Orbs you already have with you to the next shard crossing half the arena, and _then_ finally you get your health reduced due the aoe-bomb and see if you are still alive.

    This is just pure frustration. Having to give up a trial in a good group - would have been no issue if there were any way to use the mechanics as they are supposed to be....

    Last year it started on 20th July, but this year it was not confirmed yet because of Cyrodiil issues on console.

    I only just returned after a break, what events are there and when are they. I don't know if Ill have this issue although not likely I spent a few extra bucks on my pc. I rarely go less than 90 fps. Sadly most computers are not so friendly to MMOs. They should really prepare for this kind of thing.

    I have a the same sort of ping "260" New Zealand and have never had to many problems with LAG.

    LAG and a high ping is 2 different things.

    High ping is a constant differences between the server and the client and we can adjust for that and still be very good at what we do.

    Lag is where no matter what ping you have the server out of sink with the client and you die from at ? aoe, ect that has hit 250ms before you even get a interaction that it is going to happen.

    you guys that have a ping of under 100 should try being down here and still get into core groups! Would say about 10% might make it but 80% of us if we were in US would make it to core after a few hours " need to used to little ping"

    The game needs more of them really.

    Please ZOS add a few more, its a good way to kepe the game alive and give us small things to do inbetween major updates since those are few and far between.

    Just my random thoughts.

    Have a nice day though folks, just wish this downtime was over faster

    Things get very lumpy that's for sure, I am always amused when I hear US players cursing their 60fps and <150ms in the midst of some humungous three way, also why I just don't bother with end game PVE, some of it is due to my PC but the fluctuating lag in some encounters makes me want to tear my hair out

    Where does this idea that the issues are only on console come from lol? I play on PC/NA, and I speak for most of us when I say that at least in the Vivec campaign, the "issues" are numerous and affect nearly everyone. It's unprecedented for such a mainstream MMO.

    Without events there would be no Brew or Throne.

    The market isn't static. You have to adapt. That's half the fun. And contrary to real-life the consequences of your "portfolio" crashing are insignificant.

    I understand the excitement for it but they really need to fix somethings first. Last year was a nightmare and cyro is already screwed up lol I dont know how it could break the game more but honestly if they launched mid year now, im sure id be surprised with how much lower the performance bar can drop.

    That being said, hopefully zos fixes things and mid year can roll out soon :/

    I'm actually a fan of them. Events bring old players back, breathe new life into the game and allow people who don't play as often for whatever reason to get items they wouldn't be able to get otherwise.

    Because Gina mentioned consoles...
    I play in Cyrodiil everyday (PC EU) and I haven't freezed even once after Summerset.
