Are treasure maps worth hunting for?

I have like 30 of them, no joke. Wanted to know if they are worth the time to find them all? I've done maybe, 3 or 4 and have not found anything of use in them.

cyrodil and any zone whose drop sets you want may be worthwhile, otherwise nah

I only pick them in Stonefalls/Malabal Tor/so on - where there is a chance to get good gear, in combination with my survey pick up sessions more or less it worth time. Otherwise they are trash now.

The contents are always similar loot, a little Money & Materials (vardenfell ones can occasionally have motifs)
and Jewelry Set Items to sell on guild traders, but are we even still selling jewelry now that Jewel Craft is in?

I use them, but then I enjoy hunting for them. Normally I just pick them out of the bank when a character is going to that zone, but sometimes I realise I have loads waiting and then I make a deliberate trip to use them up.

But it's very rare to get anything amazing from them, so if you don't like doing it I'd say it's not worth worrying about.

As some have said, depends on the zone. However what one finds not worth it someone else does. Even the least desirable map sells for at least 100 gold on my server.

Survay's yes, treasure maps depends on region, I will keep ones which are in areas with popular sets. Have had nice stuff from some chests like Birarheart or something and can sell it on.

Well, they usually contain jewelry which is nice if you need decon for advancing JC.

I personally love them. People in my guild send them to me all the time because they know I'm gonna do them. Once you've done them enough, you memorize where they are and it takes about 30 seconds to hit each spot. Sure, most of what you get is trash, but at least there's stuff to decon and the off-chance to get something good.

vvardenfell maps can drop bouyant armiger pages and war maiden stuff

They are an absolute waste of time. If you want gear its much faster to just kill some bosses or clear dolmens.

The ones for vvardenfell are worth it for the ba motifs, but make sure if you have completed morrowind with a character, use that one as the drop rate for these motifs is increased if you have that savior of morrwind title.

It all depends on how you like to spend your time. I personal think they are near worthless.

On console I trash them most of the time. On PC since I have the treasure Hunter add on I collect every one I get.

pc get's all the love with the add on's, someone has there head up their ass by not letting xbox or ps4 having them

It might be worth it if the maps would stack. As it stands now very few maps even sell for 300 gold or less on the guild traders.

deconnable jewels and just general solo wandering are why I love treasure maps and days filled with finding them

Use the Map Pins addon to make finding them easier and suddenly you'll be doing them all over for the gold you get from the chest and selling the items at least.
I deleted them always before this addon, except Vvardenfell and Summerset maps for the motif chances.

Consoles? Sorry no addons for you unlucky people.

I just wish you could sell them to NPC merchants. Even if you get 0 gold for them. Just let me easily dispose of them when I'm clearing my inventory. Having to 'destroy' stuff is a pain in the arse.

Can't even fence the stolen ones sadly, and they're far too common from thieves troves.

I decided to run a bunch of tresure maps last night. All i got was a skull splitting headache.

Only two rings in the whole lot.

For a new player *raises hand* - I think they're fun. You get to discover new areas. Maybe you get some good stuff (depending on level of course).

I've got one girl who does them. Otherwise.... *shrug*

I'm on PC so I use an app that marks their location. After I build up a few I hunt them all down at once for Deconstruction. Good way to get some of the harder to get trait stones as well as purple and blue mats.

on console I just destroy them, to much trouble to find them unless you like doing that kind of thing but having played since console launch I am over finding them.

If only we could transfer from console to PC and keep our account the same.

not really. I have tons of maps for "treasure" I don't even bother with them anymore.

Some of them. Any zone with high priced gear, any zone that has chance at motif drop in chest... Do them. Rest, maybe not.

But under no circumstance ever go after the CE treasure maps. They contain crap.
