Is Signature Color codes disabled

Hello and greeting everyone.
So, our signature over time has been dumbed down or watered down little by little. However, what little we can add in terms of BB codes should still work right?
Well I think it's in theory. So, I've seen others use bb code to make color text, bold, and what nots, however as I'm trying to do it, it just makes it look horrible.
Am I doing something wrong or did ZOS just turn off the color code functions? Here are some pics of me playing around with the codes from :
