Since the announcement that our beloved wardrobe room in Traitor's Vault will be cruelly snatched away from us at the release of the next DLC, many of us have been spurred to frantically farming it as if our lives depend on it. The Vault is buzzing with activity at prime time and still steadily being farmed during off hours, far more so now since the announcement. We've gone from "This is great, whenever I happen to think of it" to "Must spend 24/7 there until nerf time"...great going, ZOS. ANYWAY here are some suggestions that I think might help make farming more pleasant and productive for all of us.
1. Almalexia's Enchanted Lantern memento: If you've seen some people with a light swirling around them as they go, lighting up those dim rows so you can more easily distinguish wardrobe doors from each other, that's the one. This is rewarded by completing the quest A Favor Returned in Mournhold, Deshaan, and can be quickslotted so that you can keep it activated. It takes a second or two to cool down once it goes out but you can get through all of the wardrobes lighting it twice if you're fast, three times if you're slow.
2. Recipe cooldown: I honestly do not know if this is urban myth or fact, but because of my uncertainty I wait 15+ minutes between runs. This is made much easier by having multiple toons in there and switching between them.
3. Shortcut to get there: If you're in a guild, you can look at the guild roster to see who's where, and in these days of coming nerf-doom it's more likely than ever that one of your guildies will already be in Traitor's Vault to teleport to.
4. Once you arrive, you can expect 3 skeletons on the landing, then one more skeleton down the stairs. Take a left, there's a skeleton and a bear skeleton. Continue straight instead of going down the stairs, one skeleton on the bridge. In the room you come into, there are three wolf skeletons, turn left and there's the wardrobe room, which may contain one single skeleton, a trio of two skeletons and a bear skeleton, and a Bone Colossus.
5. It's nice if you don't ignore mobs, even if someone's already fighting them. The more quickly they are cleared, the more easily you and others can move through and loot wardrobes. Besides, you never know if someone's a newbie or an outgeared dust-collector they've hauled out just to take advantage of pre-nerf time, be kind.
6. Getting stuck in wardrobes: I've seen this happen, and did not get to the person in time, but if I see it again I plan to offer to group with the stuck person so they can teleport to me instead of having to use /unstuck, and stay in the vault instead of having to go to the wayshrine and ride all the way back. Remember, the more of us are in there looting, the more recipes are on the market to obtain if you didn't get them to drop yourself!
That's all I can think of for now. Happy looting...let's try to make sure that this does not turn into another frustrating "where the hell are all the recipes at" like happened with Morrowind.
