Piercing mark mega-bug (PvP)

Piercing Mark is not allowing us to see the target if they use any ability that puts them into stealth. For example, I can mark someone and the mark lands fine. They then cloak, and disappear for the cloak duration. When they reappear they are still marked, so it’s not an issue with the ability staying on them.

Invisibility pots and other sneak abilities are working similar. People can disappear while marked. It makes hunting magblades impossible...they’re just perma-stealthing under the mark.

I like the idea of a nightblade hunting nightblade ability. But because of how people play, it does get OP in many circumstances. NBs are often “Zerg annoyers,” we slow a group by picking at them. This can be a great core strategy for slowing a keep capture enough to give reinforcements time to arrive. But when someone in the Zerg has mark, they put it on the NB and then ping them with some sort of minor DOT...and then here comes haunting curse and all of the nuisance skills that zergs use to be invincible.

A first step nerf might be a duration reduction. 25 seconds is a heck of a long time to have a mark render a player incapacitated. Because there’s nothing else to the skill, I don’t see many other nerf options.

But having it broken and completely not functional is one way to nerf it, I guess.

You are sure that your Mark didn't just get overwritten by another player? Keep in mind that only one Mark can be active on a player at the same time, so if someone else uses it on the same target, your Mark gets replaced by the new one. That would explain the behaviour you are describing. I'm using Mark myself and haven't encountered any bugs with it.

Still a bug. Dueling my magblade friend (I'm a stamblade) and he can permanently invis with my piercing mark on him. My account is cursed.
