Couple of Jewelry Crafting Research Questions

Black12Jack44
Thanks in advance for any help. Just to make sure I am understanding jewelry crafting research for the Triune and Swift traits, I will need 10 each of dawn-prism and gilding wax correct (also see https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/26357)? The main reason I ask is that I suck at PVP and usually don't have other people to play with, so I don't want to sink a lot of hours into getting a ton of AP to get dawn-prism if I do not need 10 dawn-prism to refine to research this trait. I have about 400,000 AP right now due to playing some in Cyrodiil to get alliance skills unlocked.

Also, in my case (not having a group to run with), I am guessing it is going to make more sense for me to buy materials such as slaughterstone for the bloodthirsty trait. I'm guessing I will need 10 of this again? I just don't see being able to realistically solo Trials (at least anywhere near where my character is at, which is around CP460) to get these otherwise. Thanks!

All you need for research is a piece of jewelry with the trait - no trait mats required. You will need the trait mats to actually craft jewelry with the trait, after you have researched it.

You won't need 10 dawn-prism. That is a complete trait stone, able to make one item. If you have found a crafter who will make items for you, you will need at most two - one for a necklace and one for a ring.
Similarly, gilding wax is purchased from the writ vendor as a complete trait stone, and slaughterstone from trials coffers is a complete trait stone.
If it's not a complete trait stone, it will have the word 'pulverized' as part of the name.
For research purposes, people are also selling (at least on PC) both the exemplary items (e.g. Exemplary Bloodthirsty Ring) that drop directly, and as well level 1 white-quality pewter jewelry for research purposes with the more unusual traits.

Thank you both for the quick replies! Good to know, and that will save me a lot of time and effort.

Quick follow up on the trait (harmony) that you are supposed to get through Undaunted chests: How high is the chance you actually can find this? I’ve been completing two dungeons per day for several weeks and still nothing. I have been completing the dungeons at normal difficulty; do they need to be completed on veteran? Thanks again!

Hmm, just *buy* one instead of hunting it down? They are not that expensive.

another possibility; if you're in a guild with crafters, ask someone to make you what you need. The trait stones/mats can be bought at traders, and if anyone is doing writs they have more than enough pewter to make research items.

Others had recommended these ideas to me previously, and I think I need to figure out this whole guild thing and just finally do it. A few of the traits are going to be very difficult for me to get otherwise.

I am working to navigate the guild system and find traders, and I was able to find one additional trait through a guild store last night. Thanks!
