Adjusting my Camera

So I play other MMOS and in each of them the camera is centered behind my character, but in this one it's offset, which really bothers me for some reason. I tried fiddling with the camera settings for Horizontal, but I can't find the sweet spot for it to be centered if I'm zoomed in a bit, it's still a bit off center.

Can anyone tell me the secret number to make it centered if I'm zoomed out, and if I'm zoomed in a bit (Not in first person, but close to my character)

I believe you would set your horizontal offset to zero, and then the horizontal position to the center position between both ends of the bar, but I don't remember if there actually is a horizontal offset or not in this game. I'll check and see.

Yep. Set both your horizontal offset and horizontal position to zero. Your crosshair lines up perfectly with the center of your avatar at any zoom distance.

You also need to lower the vertical camera. Off the top of my head I think mine is set to -20 or -30. That should put the cursor more close to the centre of the character, not focused on the top of their head.

I specifically set mine +10 to be just above the character's head to be able to see what I am clicking.

The sad part is that anything different than "0" vertical offset will not reflect the actual targeting as that still is tied to the zero position so it is difficult to actually open small containers that are actually in your crosshairs, like the jewelry boxes on top of wardrobes in Vvardenfell and Summerset.
This is very annoying and I wish it would be fixed. The default position should generally be just at the top of the head or above anyway, so that people can see what they are clicking when not in first person view.

Ahh, so THAT’s why it’s offset by default, because it looks dumb having the cursor sitting on the character.

I know this post was a while ago, but it solved my problem. Thank you all for your input.
