Morkuldin underwhelming set

Morkuldin Set is overall a decent balance stamina bonus set as well as a nice animated 5th bonus but unfortunately that 5th proc requires a buff imo...

A full 9 trait Craftable Set that has 10% chance on Light or Heavy attack for a single proc, which puts out no to little pressure on even the weakness enemies/players. It is by far the one of the weakness proc bonuses in the game (especially for a 5piece set bonus)

My thoughts are either increase proc damage or/and chance rate by at least 20% (even then it would still be underwhelming against damage shield users)
OR
Leave the 10% proc chance but deal oblivion damage just like Sloads (And be more “viable” against mag AND stamina build)

If the change was to oblivion damage
Sloads 10% Proc from ANY damage done to opponent
Vs
Morkuldin 10% Proc from ONLY light or heavy attacks
I’d say it would be a fair change

Thoughts? Regardless it needs a big adjustment to be in par with some of this ridiculously proc bonuses now days

So few people care about this set that they won't click the thread. That's disappointing because it has serious popcorn gif potential.

It actually hit 2-3 times the damage of sloads and can be worn back bar only. Also has a 15 sec uptime with 0 cooldown. People also will spam cleanse to remove that can’t be cleansed as well as Dodge it. A 20-30 percent change would be lovely.

Well yeah so many of all crafted sets are either:
A ) Total [removed profanity] garbage (Seriously like 80%)
    B ) OP [removed profanity] (Sload's)
C ) Acceptable (Hunding's, Julianos, Seducer, few others)

Perhaps this will make a difference:
    • Increased the Movement Speed of all Monsters summoned from your abilities and Item Sets by 25%.
    Developer Comments:
    • Monsters now have a 50% total Movement Speed bonus. They can keep pace with you when you are using Sprint or have Major Expedition, but stacking Movement Speed bonuses will allow you to outrun them.

I recall reading a bug fix where summoned pets (the sword counts as one) were pausing for some reason instead of attacking.

The fact is, though, pets are terrible in almost any situation and the only reason you see them in endgame builds is to stack magicka on a necropotence-using character (warden pets and NB shadowy image count). There's no similar mechanism that would benefit stamina characters.

Kind of useless set, but I tried to use it on my low level bow character, when I had not many skills.
The animated weapon is just too slow, most of the up time it chases the mobs instead of dealing serious damage, funny looking maybe but not efficient :D .

Could you elaborate that? What's the issue with Morkuldin and shields? Do wards prevent the proc?

No just shields in general. “GENERALLY” to go against a “more experience” shield opponent you required at least a “well timed cc with burst” or/and “enough pressure” to out sustain them until they run dry (and experience shield users wouldn’t really have this problem to begin with anyway) which is why I say the proc from morkuldin is too underwhelming against shields (Not enough pressure and definitely not bursty). Even if you combined it with ANY other proc set it just doesn’t deal enough damage OR proc nearly as much as it should for such a weak proc

But against stamina opponents, yeah the damage from the proc is weak but with the right set combination and play style it “MIGHT” put that little pressure on the opponent “cough cough” “defile dot builds”.... BUT even then why would anyone run morkuldin over sloads currently?

I agree the extra movement speed is a added buff but still not going to justify the pressure/damage output compared to ANY current proc damage set like the Craftable #sloads AND even if we compare it to other “non-attackable Pet Summoned sets” I can only think of shadowrend.
Shadowrend is definitely also has underwhelming “Damage” from the pet BUT because it also puts Minor Maim (which is very effective in PvP) and require ONLY 2 piece compared to 5 it’s MUCH more efficient and effective in practice.

My friend just started using this set on his wolf build.... and hes having issues with it proc’in... once ina while it just simply stops coming up he can be hitting for a half hour to an hour and it never pop... the only way he gets it back is if he relogs....

We think it could prossibly have something to do with using it as a werewolf but not sure..anyone else have trouble...

I mean i realize its a 10% chance but not getting one to pop in 30 mins to an hour is a bit extreme

There are bigger fish to fry. Sets like ice furnace for example. Sets that are so useless that you cant even run them as a meme.

First time I saw morkuldin in action, I just started playing the game. I didn't know about sets and thought it was a player using hacks.

I revisited this set recently. It’s bad. Really bad.

The animation is excruciatingly slow. So bad, I had a guy dodge it’s attacks by simply running in circles around a small tree.

It is mildly funny watching an inexperienced player panic when the sword chases them.

So I am curious if anyone else has noticed if the animation doesn’t always wanna pop up while in wolf form? I understand it’s not s good set in pvp... he isn’t using it in pvp we only run pve and it’s not terrible in pve...

Anyone else notice is it a wolf transformation bug or just a general bug?

Yep, Morkuldin is not worth the crafting material to make it at any level. It is pathetic. The Sword floats around and Hen pecks at enemies. Just ridiculous. When I see others use it I wonder if they realize how bad it is.

They should overhaul most of the 9 trait sets imho, including Morkuldin. Considering the time investment needed to learn 9 traits for everything to craft this, these sets should be providing good set bonuses.

I love the animation on Morkuldin but as a set it’s terrible. As a crafter I feel anything that requires nine traits should at least be feasible to wear. It shouldn’t be garbage like this set is. It doesn’t have to be BIS, but for the sake of diversity it should at least rise to a level where it can be worn. I think the game would benefit greatly from crafting being revisited. With all the work put into the animations for these sets you would think somebody would want to see them in action at least occasionally.
