The reason there's the number of skill slots we have access to is due to them wanting ESO to be on consoles.
Consoles use controllers with a finite number of buttons.
I wish it weren't the case but there it is.

I want 2 less skill slots... But that's me.
Or the ability to have mouse-clickable skills.(Not hot keyed, hover-over, actually seeing what I'm clicking, mouse-clickable skills)
Please see below and tell me how you would fit more abilities here. Literally the only thing missing would be a HOLD Start+Select option...Anotherone773 wrote: »The reason there's the number of skill slots we have access to is due to them wanting ESO to be on consoles.

Supposedly new console players dont have the skill level we had back in the 90s and cannot press two buttons at the same time. Thats how we got around limited buttons. Or combo buttons for combos.

X+A, and the “Quest Cycle” (R directional pad) can be gone... that’s dumb, and useless.
Who tf just uses that button to cycle through quests with urgency?
So, take your pick... but by those standards it gives us room for 2 more abilities per bar.

Lol, its bad enough having to bar swap while doing your rotation. Try managing to pull off X+A. The D-pad is seldom used outside of a few options. I doubt my d-pad remembers it exists outside of ESO. Bar Swap, potion off cooldown...

Nope, no excuse because of consoles.
FFXIV runs on PlayStation and PC and some of the classes have upwards of 25 buttons in normal combat scenarios yet somehow Square was able to have this work on PlayStation. Also, PC and PS play together so if this were an issue it'd be noticeable.
