Based on the usual complaints in game or forums a zerg is any number of players that kill you. I have never understood the complaint in Cyrodiil about numbers. If players want a game that always matches exact numbers why in the world wouldn't they play either BGs or another game designed around even numbers/teams.

Anything above 4 is a Zerg. The game says so itself, by asking if you wanna form a large group at 5.

    Group is 4.
    Raid is 12.
    Zerg is 13+.

That’s Pve nonsense. 5-24 is a Zerg. So folks need to face the fact. They are little Zerglings lol.

NEXT folks will be saying MY Sloads didn’t proc on you...er...I mean...I’m not WEARING Sloads! Lol. Or Bows my FRONT bar...I mean I run bow/Bow lol.

Depends on the faction. For DC and AD 60 players would be a massive zerg, for EP it's smallscale. :*

A point of group size where you can do anything or nothing and get kills in PvP. Zerging does not teach any PvP.

Zerg is when they kill us 9v3, but when we kill someone 3v1 it's small scale experienced PvP. "THEY ALWAYS ZERG", we just play coordinated groups or meet by a coincidence at the spot.

strict number does not matter that much. behaviour, yes.
Zerg is a "train" of players running through oponents using just brutal force. imagine 25 AD defending inner of Ash keep against 25 DC. through breached outer and inner MGs arriving group of speedbuffed 30+ EP, smashing all possible targets on their way through keep ground floor, then top floor, no matter whom, no mater if flags flipped or no, going out to one of corner tower, wait inside for a minute to get some opponents resurected by mates and repeating train through keep again. this is typical behaviour of zerg

See, to me that's the behavior of an organized group with a plan of attack. Possibly an organized raid in farming mode, but not disorganized in the least and any PUG hanger-ons they had will get picked off quickly.

The (disorganized) zerg I see is the mass of players that rushes to Bleakers or Aleswell, or Chalman or Alessia, thirsty for the blood of their enemies, then gets to the front door/wall and realizes that everyone left the siege at home. Either a few players set down siege and eventually open the keep for the zerg to swarm inside or no one does and they wipe, head back to the last keep, and start all over.

Alternatively, a (more organized) zerg can be one or more organized raids imbedded in a mass of PUGs that are following/moving to the same target. This tends to happen when there's an obviously important objective for the faction to focus on such that everyone knows to go to the same place. The last keep for an emperorship or a dethrone, a home keep that needs to be retaken or defended, or an obvious enemy target on teh emp ring - all of those get "zerged" by large numbers of raids +PUGs because this game focuses on objectives. Important objectives attract more players.

Zerging is defined by most of the community as:
"Any amount of enemy players (1 or more) that were totally the cause of a player's death and the player would have survived otherwise without question because they have true PvP skill."

Have you heard!? Zerg...Zerg...Zerg...Zerg is the Word!

But sadly, like most terms, it has lost all meaning with its popularity. For ESO in Cyrodiil at the beginning you would get yelled at for calling anything less than a Full 3 Bars attacking a single Castle a Zerg....now it’s just a group...any group...
It’s just a word thrown out there like calling someone a n00b...it’s meaningless

More than 24 is a zerg.
It's a "swarm" ie. very large number. 24 sounds like a good minimum I suppose.

For example, when EP faction stacks at Ales and it looks like an invasion of 10,000 ants, that is most definitely a zerg.

more than 2x your group is a zerg ( your group = 6, you were zerged if killed by 12+)
It's the mentality plus the size of the the group that makes it a zerg or not. There's a thing called a Zerg mentality in my book. If someone is chasing one person, a zerg mentality would be a group would follow that one person running away and follow them until they are dead. A Zerg mentality is attacking a tank that wont go down easy and stay there until they eventually die. A Zerg mentality is running to a keep and hoping everyone else in your group puts down a siege and you don't. A Zerg menality is grouping on one or two people and then bagging them because you know you can't beat them on your own.

Zerging is not just numbers, its also method - it is a large group perhaps 20 or more who push through the enemy spamming every ability they have in a somewhat tight formation.

1 person is Solo. 2 people are 2 manning. 3-4 is small man. Anything over 4 is a Zerg.

It was explained to me like this by a well known 1vXer. When you’re in a group over 4 the game tells you that your group is now large. Less than 5, it tells you “your group is no longer large.”

ANYTHING over 4 is a Zerg. I know people who generally won’t run more than 4.

1 person vs 1 person is a 1v1. 1 person vs 2 or more is a legit 1vX. 2 people or more vs 1 is an Xv1. 5v1 is getting Zerged down. 5v4 is getting Zerged down. Etc etc.

Not if the fifth person is bait, lol~ :)

there are several definitions of a zerg depending on context:

      zerg as a size definition:

      1-5 players = small group
      6-11 players = medium group
      12-18 players = large group
      19+ = zerg

      Zerg as a general definition:

Any group size larger than necessary to achieve an objective. Whether that is killing X amount of players, or scoring objectives.

      Zerg as a verb:

any group larger than your group attacking you. e.g. 2v1 - the 2 guys zerged down the 1 guy etc.

we were asked not to do this.
the devs asked us to spread out in cryodiil to make less lagg.
but sadly, when they asked us to do that, that's when it got worse and More people created more zergs, and today on PC NA we see Alot of zergs on all alliances.

A zerg is a group of players that continuously grows in numbers until they finally manage to defeat oneself or ones own group. It can be a 3 man team, it can be a 100 man team, hell it can be a duo. A zerg is "winning by numbers, not skill".

Then we have bomb groups. They don't necessarily win by skill, but by coordination and rigid role distribution. This is not skill, it's discipline and training.

Then we have, for the lack of better words, ballgroups. Winning by exposing every stupid design decision rigorously and applying them in a way that doesn't really seem like its intended use.
