It must be said that of the many available mount models (underneath the reskins) the dwemer spider is by far the best for speed and control in one's riding fast across Tamriel. At top speed you can pull off some insane maneuvers. I should record a video of a triple-ricochet I pulled off leaping off a high cliff in Wrothgar (and survived due to bizarre Tamrielic "vertical fall distance kills but full-speed faceplant into a rock wall mitigates falling damage physics)

There was a thread a while ago that said that it seems some mount navigate terrain better than others but I wonder if that is a myth

Seems like my guard has mad hopes and my bear can't get over a rock.
I've wondered if the height is the same but the hit box for the mount is different. So the guar's feet are higher up while his over all jump height is the same

someone supposedly tested ride smoothness on some rough terrain and supposedly dwemer spiders were the most smooth ride and then senches. I don't know if this is true tho

Nope, that's definitely true. Dwemer spider, then senche, then wolf, then horsies/elk, then nix-ox (which has some problems with intertia at high speeds and sort of just not coming to rest and drifting off edges you would have stopped at on other mounts), then camels/bears/kagouti, then guar, in that order of ride quality.

I love him too

Theres that NPC again... Damn he gets around..
Recolors can make a difference, just look at how many people are willing to pay money at zos just to get a apex mount that is in a better color
