ProgramData Folder?

In several threads about resolving constant disconnects ESO suggests resetting the ProgramData Folder like in the example below but I can't find any information on what that does to your game. For example, does it reset all of your video, audio and game settings? Does it reset your key binds, etc?

Reset the ProgramData folder
  1. If playing on PC, you can also try resetting the ProgramData folder:
  2. Close both ESO and the ESO Launcher.
  3. Open the game's installation directory.
  4. Open the folder named Launcher.
  5. Inside the "Launcher" folder, there is a folder named "ProgramData".
  6. Rename the "ProgramData" folder to "ProgramDataBackup".
  7. Open the launcher and download update.
  8. Click Play.

Seems to reset something related to IP adresses or something internal.

Personally, I've had more luck fighting disconnects by opening ports and lowering firewall security, and possibly the change on the port my computer is plugged into on my router.

But I -have- had almost no disconnects lately, so if that's on ZOS's end, credit where it's due.

I rarely if ever suffer a disconnect. I mean it does happen, but rarely

All I have done is make sure the ports the game wants are tiggered on my router. I also dont have an anti virus program beyond Windows Malicous Software Removal Tool. I don't use the Windows Firewall either.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Never change a running system!!!

Especially security changes. Pls do not!

    Edit:
Our PCs are fine. The issue is not our fault

So nobody knows what clearing the Program Data Folder resets? For example, does it reset all of your video, audio and game settings? Does it reset your key binds, etc?
