Steps in broken ship on waterfall in Colossal Aldmeri Grotto bugged

Hubby and I each purchased the Grotto house fully furnished and the steps inside the broken ship (near the waterfall) that lead to the platform where the Alinor bed and Alinor desk are placed, has some kind of glitch. When you try to walk up either side you stutter up the steps, even stopping on a couple of the steps and having to force your way up. I've talked to several other players in my guild who say it is also happening to them in their Grotto house. Anyone else noticed this happening?

@ZOS_GinaBruno can you tell us why this is happening now?

Ahhhh I hadn’t noticed, spent hours decorating the new house. Will check when I get back in game. Thanks!!

I wonder if they've been working on how characters move more again, intentionally or accidentally. That would explain this.
Characters certainly don't move very smoothly in most places and most stairs end up just behaving like cliffs we're running off or riding off on mounts than stairs. Something is definitely messed up, and different from Summerset PTS where the grotto boat cabin stairs worked fine.

A friend of mine bought the unfurnished version and I've spent several hours building bridges from that upper half of a ship to the higher one located up by the waterfall and then down to an island and haven't noticed the stuttering on the steps. Is it possibly related to a furnished house?

I don’t think so because a friend of mine bought the unfurnished grotto and when I asked him last night about his steps, he ran back there and tried them and said his was doing the same thing. The thing is this wasn’t doing this the first day we bought the house and it didn’t do it on the PTS.

@ZOS_GinaBruno I submitted a support ticket and was contacted by Jennifer from The Elder Scrolls Online Team and she confirmed the issue by stating in the email, "I appreciate you coming back with us. I can clearly see the issue as I was able to receive the same."

Can you please update us on whether this issue is going to be fixed? My husband and I don't want to even decorate in this area in our grotto houses because of this glitch and that's a shame considering how much we pay in real money to purchased these houses.

Also my husband and I, as well as several friends who have purchased the grotto, have noticed that the lighting placed in these houses have now lost their glow. The lights, that once emitted a nice glow when the house was first purchased, now give barely any lighting at all and are only lighting a very small area around the lights. These include the Alinor sconces that came furnished in the houses. I seem to recall a similar issue over a year ago with lighting and wonder if that bug has returned?

Please respond as soon as possible. Thank you.

It was fixed in Patch 4.1.0 on the PTS because they removed every other fix to that house from Summerset 4.0.X patches, including the ceiling fix so now the ceiling is full of holes and incomplete meshes for rocks.

We'll have to see if they fix the ceiling on the PTS while keeping the stairs working right.

You should update your ticket to that person letting them know it is having other problems with that house on the PTS and the stairs work right there.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_RichLambert Could you please update us as to when this issue/bug will be fixed?

Hubby and I EACH paid 18,750 Crowns for furnished versions of these houses....that's essentially $268 U.S. Dollars for a house that now has a bug with the steps that it didn't have when we purchased this house.

We can/do not want to decorate or use this area that initially had a bed, desk, and other furniture placed there by ZOS as a usable area. I have submitted bug reports, contacted support, and have spoken with several other guild members who also purchased this house and are having the same issues.

As I stated earlier, when contacting support about this issue, Jennifer from The Elder Scrolls Online Team and she confirmed the issue by stating in the email, "I appreciate you coming back with us. I can clearly see the issue as I was able to receive the same." So this is not an issue that has not been verified.

Please respond as soon as possible. Thank you.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_RichLambert @ZOS_MattFiror 21 Days Later and sill no response as to when you will be fixing this issue in a house that hubby and I spent $268 of our hard earn dollars for?! We know of at least 12 of our guild mates and close friends who have purchased this house and are having the same issues.

Do we all need to post videos on all social media and gaming websites of the before and after showing that this bug was not in the house when originally purchased? We also have emails from customer support stating that they are also experiencing the bug when going up both sets of steps. Will that help get this bug resolved?

As I posted earlier, this is fixed on the Wolfhunter PTS patch 4.1.X now. It will be coming to live servers soon.

The only issue with that is that the ceiling needs to be fixed again, which I expect them to do, but unsure when.

I believe the reason the steps are fixed on the PTS is because that is an earlier version of the PTS, from Summerset, that's the reason the ceiling is like it is on there, because it was that way in the earlier Summerset release and the ceiling was fixed later in a patch. There are several bugs throughout the current version of the PTS that were actually there when we all were on the earlier Summerset PTS release.

Yep, which I also posted above about.

And, it turns out they fixed the ceiling with the pts patch today to 4.1.3. I look forward to testing those stairs as well.

FYI, I also bought that home and want it to be perfect. It's my first and only notable classification home.

Awesome on the ceiling! I will be hopping on the PTS today as well to check out the stairs.

Congrats on your first notable home!

Hubby and I each own 11 homes, three are the free apartments though. Of those my favorites are the Earthtear Cavern, Coldharbour Surreal Estate, and the Pariah Pinnacle (although that one is hard to decorate because of the floors in it). I feel the Colossal Aldmeri Grotto could be my new favorite, if I can finish decorating it the way I like. We purchased it when it was released and started decorating, but when the steps bugged out, we stopped.

I truly love the housing in this game and hubby and I spend a lot of money on getting the things we want, but we are like you and want (and expect) the houses to be perfect.

and most stairs end up just behaving like cliffs we're running off or riding off on mounts than stairs.

Been like this since Launch. The trick is to look down as you approach the stairs.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

I know that, but that doesn't always work. They made many of them too steep so it happens much more often, and the "foot inverse kinematics" of the mount also depends on lack of lag for it to kick in correctly all too often.
It seems to work better on wolves and senche than horses though. Horses always have the worst trouble with stairs and bumps.
