So what to do if you want to give away an extra Motif & recipes to low level players to help them?

Having issues within the game, people take off before I can even send the whisper. I'd rather give away to someone where it can make a difference, than sell for just 9 gold to a NPC Vendor. I know when I was level 1-25 it would have been great getting recipes and Motifs. But maybe that's just me.

Join a guild and sell stuff...if you can run MasterMerchant you'll see what price to ask for.

And if you join a guild you could make it known that you'd be willing to help beggining players. Most guilds have guild halls and do stuff.

There are lots of gankers and goofs in this game...so some players are not too interested in engaging others.

Beggiinng players are twicthy on the trigger...they are trying to survive...lot of stuff going on.

You could always sell them in a guild store to make a lot more money, if thats what you're looking to do instead of selling to an NPC vendor.

Usually when I get duplicates of motifs, set items or recipes when I am feeling generous, I will request a trade with a person near me, or who has been fighting alongside me during a quest so I can give it to them. Especially when they're lower levels.

Most of the time they will reject the offer. When they reject the offer, then I'll head to the guild store to try and sell it.

I tried the 'chance partner' angle, but usually the ones who jump in with me are higher than me. :)

You have to be in a guild to sell thru a guild trader. I'm not because I'm more a casual player and dont have the game income to pay 20,000 gold a month fee when I'm trying to save for crafting stations. Maybe after I hit CP100, but my fiscally responsible gaming soul can't justify it now just for what I would have to sell at this point.

I may try the zone shout. Maybe I'll get a hit. If not, just sell it like I did before. Shame that.

i don't know which server you play on. not all guilds require fees or minimum sales.

Are you certain the low level players are new and not just low level alts? After the anniversary event this year so many of us were able to learn a lot of motifs, and now guild stores are overflowing with them. If they are new maybe they don't care about motifs yet.

You can see their name - just mail the motifs (or whatever) with a "you looked like you might be new - hope you can use these" kind of message.

Shouting in zone chat will usually work if you are in the beginner zones (and now Summerset). Also consider joining a new-player friendly guild and then you can ask folks in guild chat as well.

As well as, if your guild has more than 50 members, the guild store feature unlocks and you can list stuff even if the guild doesn't have a trader. So you can actually put stuff up for sale at "guildie prices" if you so wish.

There are certainly a lot of possibilities!

Probably ZOS can create something like "charity box"? I will not ask on zone chat nor put on guild trader cheap things like vanila motives or green/blue glyph, but definitely it could be great help to new players.

This is a great idea! And they can add a cooldown so people wont be able to abuse it.

Sometimes I'll take things like treasure maps, blue motifs and low value recipes and put them on my guild trader for 1g. Someone buys them fairly quickly. They may not necessarily go to a newer low level player, but someone is getting some use out of it.

You can go to crafting stations, preferably popular ones aswell as shrines. I think you'll find the right people there. Maybe you then put something in the /Y channel and see what response you get.

I tend to trickle down stuff to alts, last alt goes to Mistral and give away to new players, you want to go to the old starting islands, or perhaps the first city like Vulkhel Guard.
    Free stuff for new players.

I used to just mail them to whatever low level I saw near me in glenumbra but zos changed that and I can only email friends now. Just asking in a starter zone who wants them usually works

I have actually done that on a few occasions, however alot of times it is requiring me to have at least tried to 'whisper' to them or it kicks back as an 'unknown player'. Sometimes even whispering doesnt help.

As far as low levels actually being alts vs new players, I usually look for what they are wearing, and how fast it takes them to take down an NPC. ie: if they are an alt, they most likely have better armor and weapons for their level.

This is what I do, once a week, a big giveaway. I also stand near the horse vendor and trade 10k to lowbies for horses xD I know they can get one from lvl up rewards, but still. It's a nice thing that maybe they'll pass along later! Plus, they can get another colour or whatever, if they like! Or spend it on ERP in Riften, whatever ;-)

And your kiosk owning guild is getting a big bone for that...unless you're the type
To support your trade guild outside of sales.

If your guild doesn't have a kiosk, that is fine since you are just selling to guild members.

If they have a guild trader, you are doing the guild harm by undercutting other guild members who would be contributing sales tax that would help pay for the guild trader next week. The exception would be if a guild member buys the item and flips it, but that often won't be the case.
