What's the Difference?

According to patch notes Psijic motifs can drop from Abyssal Geysers and Abyssal Pools. I have completed Summerset and have never seen an Abyssal Pool. So, What are these Abyssal Pools and where are they located?

Probably a typo. I've seen them drop from Psijic Portal. Also I've seen them drop from some of the mobs spawning on Abyssal Geyser before the boss comes out, but the bulk of them came from the shell at the end. Maybe "pool" is that puddle at the middle of the geyser where the boss spawns.

Abyssal pools are like the mini dolmens that have a chance of spawning throughout the world. They are just a mini geyser that spawns randomly in Summerset and drops a few adds to fight.

I have seen maybe 5 total in the last month, so the spawn rate isn't that high.

So that Yaghra Monstrosity with a few smaller spider mobs is actually called an Abyssal Pool? I did actually kill a few of those and even got a page from one but didn't realize it was a random encounter. Maybe they spawn on a timer in predetermined places, much like the oblivion fissures in the base game. For example there is one in one of the tunnels in the west of Kartvasten (public dungeon).
