Weapon poisons of the same type overwrite each other when applied to the same target

Heyho,

our stamina damage dealers noticed that their weapon poison (Damage Health Poison IX) vanished from targets prematurely (we use addons that are able to track them). We did some testing on it and it seems that if more than one player applies a poison effect of the same type on the same target, they overwrite each other.

Example:
Player A's attacks put Damage Health IX's two DoTs on the boss (with 6.4 and 4.5 seconds duration) at time index 0:10
Player B's attacks put the same poison's DoTs on the boss at time index 0:11
=> Player A's poison dots are gone although they should actually last until time index 0:164 and 0:145.

Is this intended to prevent dot stacking in pvp? Because in pve this makes using poisons absurd as every stam player has to use another poison (yep, we argue who may use the strong version...).

Cheers,
Letho

Duh? the same buffs and debuffs override eachother, always have, always will.

also, the game has buff tracking, so you don't need an addon for that. ;)

I don't think it's a debuff, though? The alchemical poison applies a DoT, and DoTs should be separate for each player. It actually looks like a serious bug (akin to recently fixed inability of Arms of Relequen to stack, so only one person in the group could benefit from the set). The poison is something close to meta at this moment, so a lot of people will be using it on bow bar, and that bug will reduce overall group damage quite a bit.

My bad, it's not a debuff, it's a DoT, as John_Falstaff says. Prior to Summerset players' poison dots did not overwrite each other, so this is either a bug or a stealth nerf to poisons to prevent players being doted by multiple enemies at the same time in pvp (would not make sense imo).
