Cool story bro, but its not a steam issue. All my other games work perfectly fine with steam and have for 11 years. Its a ESO issue.Sadly so, and for several reasons, the most core one is because the whole system is tied to Steam in a way that they can't do much when Steam the steam services themselves become unreliable, the fix would require to stop relying on steam services to provide a reliable login system, and the rumored contracts they have with Steam are said to not allow that.
So what is actually happening when ZOS posts the usual message?
Absolutely nothing! Everything ZOS is doing is monitoring the Steam service waiting for the normalization, you can bet ZOS has no developers assigned to this problem.
This problem will last for as long as the service they depend on logins continues being unreliable, it may be weeks, it may be months, it may be years, it's just sad that this company is not capable to face their players and openly discuss the mess the service reliability has become and always hides behind superficial "we're investigating, we're working on it" messages. My personal bet on that is that in a month or two, we'll still be seeing the "we're investigating the issue and working on it" as the steam login continues to fail.

It is also sad that people are not united in their desire to achieve real action from the ZOS in solving this problem. People who have an account that is not tied to Steam, are indifferent at best, and at worst - protect the ZOS, accusing steam players of all mortal sins. It'a so rediculous. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Games have different login methods, ESO seems to directly rely on Steam to login, it also has large rates (easily reaching dozens of thousands) so it should be related.
It is impossible for this huge problem with the service downtime to last this long if they had full control of it, and the non-steam logins are not failing when the steam ones do.

Non steam users believe they get extra crown crates by supporting ZOS blindly. Every time when I raise support ticket in steam, response is to contact ZOs and not steam issue. ZOs as usual doesnt provide any response.
It provides legal ground for steam to go against ZOs if ZOs treats steam customers as garbage and intentionally not fixing the issue in time ? Its revenue loss for both ZOs and steam . ZOs is not intending to fix steam issue on time . ZOS just brags and never responds to support ticket. Whenever server loaded on prime time , steam players are kicked ?

It does not matter on whose side the fault is, because each company claims that they are all right, and sends to look for answers to the other company. And spending time to discuss such issues, people on the forum miss the main thing - to demand from the ZOS to solve the problem and/or to give a clear answer about "every_week_investigation" this issue.Anotherone773 wrote: »Cool story bro, but its not a steam issue. This means that the issue essentially becomes an incompatibility (over simplified term) between the game and Steam's launcher. If the Steam launcher works, there'd be no reason to change anything. So who is changing the game? ZOS.
1. So either ZOS is making changes without consideration for the Steam launcher.
or
2. ZOS is providing necessary information to Steam to update their launcher but Steam isn't doing it.
I'd say the first one is more likely.

It's true ZOS doesn't support Steam players, in fact it's a nightmare for a Steam player to even send a ticket because they don't give them support accounts.
How more ridiculous can this get? ZOS sits and watches as the reputation of ESO goes down the toilet as people grow angrier and angrier at one issue that only gets worse, with 0 communication from their side aside of a "we're investigating" every time it happens.
Here we go again.
@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom
At this point you guys really should suggest to the higher-ups that Steam PC players be given access to the regular PC launcher. A large swath of your Steam PC players are going to be leaving in droves if this keeps happening.

ESO has enough players even without steam . Why would ZOs care once they got active player base in retail ?
I bought the game through Steam, but I never log into Steam anymore. I use a shortcut directly to the game, or the ESO launcher (not Steam) when an update is needed. I only know Steam as a PC platform. How is this an issue? On console? On PC? Don't use Steam. Just use the ESO launcher. Is that not the answer?

I agree, if i sit down to play a game and i cant play this one, i play another. If i get involved in another game then i will lose interest in this one and just play that. And i spend at least $30 a month on this game and up to $100 a month.
@ZOS_GinaBruno
You should just give steam users login keys, so they can use the regular launcher as well, since you cant seem to fix this problem which occurs more and more frequently.

Dozens of thousands of concurrent players would be something nobody would waste, I'm sure Steam represents a good chunk of the ESO total concurrent players, normally one MMO a few dozens of thousands online is already considered highly populated (and most of them don't even get that much).
