Robes of the Hist...

Has anyone here used this set, and if so, what are your thoughts on it?

I am currently giving this set consideration for defensive purposes, and it seems interesting to me as it has "Reactive" properties to it (you automatically start to Heal and it reduces the duration of disabling effects by 20% when you are disabled)...

Getting a free 2k heal every second when disabled (it'll be 1k in PvP however) as well as having the duration of all disabling effects reduced by 20% in PvP doesn't seem that bad to me (especially with the enormous amount of Hard and Soft CC you encounter in PvP at current)...

Anyone out there have practical experience with this set?

Sypher testing it out way back when he still played. It doesn't proc off of snares and roots like reactive does. And the CC duration reduction will rarely come into play since most pvps build and play to be able to insta-break every time they're CC'd.

The heal will only get 1 tick if you instabreak, which is underwhelming.

The only use of the set is if you plan on eating the full duration of hard CCs on a regular basis and that seems like highly niche build, to put it generously.

    Darn...

You make a great point about insta-breaking free when CC'ed and if it doesn't proc on Soft CC, then that greatly lowers its usefulnesss...

I have no desire to eat hard CC on a regular basis btw; I was really hoping that it proc'ed on Soft CC as that would make the set very useful...

I've also tried it. Tiny heal, doesn't proc as much as you need it to.

This is one of those sets that would be interesting if it got a nice buff.

The game's literally littered with these kinds of sets that looks nice only in theory. Almost like 90% is useless in reality.

That's bc every time they give us a new set they nerf it into the ground. Would really like them to buff older sets up and not add any new ones.

I tired this set myself and found it useless heal to weak and you break free to fast for it to matter.

    Yes!!!

Looks like the Devs were reading my mind and this set is transforming into exactly what I thought it should be...

Now the set will be buffed to proc on all immobilizations, snares, and disabling effects...

In addition, the healing is getting buffed from 2000 to 2500 per sec...

    Excellent job Zenimax!!!

Reactive + Hist should especially be effective...

35% damage reduction + auto healing when snared or disabled would make one tanky as hell...

Thanks for posting this! I've been running Seducer + Robes of the Hist a long time and it's nice to know it may get some improvement. While I do kind of like the 5 piece bonus, I love the mix of other bonuses it gives which are just perfect for what I want.

I'm really trying to gather a list of disabling effects now, looks like ZOS will code stuff different. Does anybody have information about new - not old disabling effects (as its classified disabling) in WolfHunter PTS ?

Also don't think this set is underwhelming ZOS sneaks in coded things. My experience maybe a change to the way snares and other things or disabling effects work in WolfHunter.

There is a reason why they buffed this set, stay ahead if the game people.

    Any pts info would help...

This set definitely got a lot more interesting with the addition of snares proc'ing the set. I didn't spend a ton of time with it, but it procs on npcs snares and stuns, and will proc on an enemy templar ritual. It appears to be buffed by healing bonuses. (My tooltip on an argonian was higher than 2500, but not my 5%... odd.)

Losing the snare reduction buffs the set, and it has the potential to be VERY strong for questing and overland content. With the overall reduction in snares it remains to be seen if it's good OW PVP. A mag class using FM won't want it, nor a DK using wings. In a organized group with purges, it's probably bad. A templar using Ritual may not want it either because you may purge your own set heal while trying to purge Sloads or Major Defile.

I think it could work well on magsorc builds and melee magblades, but might not be worth losing another 5 piece.

    @NBrookus

So snares procs on this set confirmed WolfHunter pts - and mobilizations also confirmed ?

As of right now ... in Summerset it does not proc on soft CCs hence snares and immobilizations. So i take it if "confirmed" they did change the way it works.

    Appreciate the intel, thank you!

I ran reactive with hist for a few weeks, fun to be tanky as all get up, but not much damage. If you are going for a soak up damage build it is good.
