How do people lvl clothing?

I'm cp220 and my clothing lvl is only at lvl 16. I mostly do solo questing and I have collected some motif that say I need 8 or 10 in clothing.

How do I get that lvl in clothing. I just want to look good while questing lol.

Thanks all

Deconstruct all cloth and leather items that you don't need. You'll have clothing 50 in no time and be able to put more points into the first passive. That's the one that controls the level of gear you can make and that's the ones that the motifs are referring to when they said "clothing 8".

    Deconstruct everything!
& I do mean everything on the 1st character, that you are not using or using to research a trait

buy intricate items (from guild traders) if you have spare gold

Hmm. Most of the motifs with a limitation say "lv X in Clothing, Blacksmithing, or Woodworking". Of course, leveling any of the three works the same way. Deconstruct lots of things.

If the motif says "level 10" it's for the material rank, not your actual clothing level. You need to not only level up clothing (to the 40s, I think), but also put skill points in the passive that lets you craft higher material items.

As others have said, deconstruct all things that you can, particularly blues and purples if you can. If you are in a guild, mention to people that you are leveling clothing and they may send you stuff to decon as well.

You need to put at least 8 skill points into the passive that lets you make higher levels of clothing armor in order to use that motif.

Do the normal pledges every day; before long you'll be drowning in intricates. It's also a decent way to level undaunted.

Thanks all not in any guild but will try to get into one. So how long does it take to lvl up by deconstructing? Does exp boost scrolls help with that?

XP boost scrolls don't help with crafting at all. They are only for character XP.

One thing I forgot to mention is do your daily Writs. They reward some nice crafting XP. If you are on PC, there is an addon called Lazy Writ Crafter that is really good.

I did try doing pledges one or twice (with randome people) but they didn't like like it that I was a mag sorc, so I gave up on that.

I guess I will start doing that as well. Thanks

Also, look for items to deconstruct that offer increased inspiration. Always decon those. There's some icon in the item description that indicates increased inspiration. I forget what it looks like.
