You fell for the bait, sucker, so buckle up and suffer through my greatest (ESO-related) fantasy.
Change Destro and Resto staves
Destruction: change Ice back to a DPS weapon. You’re welcome, Magdens.
Restoration: make the default light/heavy attack function like the Psijic Mending skill (and rework the skill to do something different). It will be necessary to remove enchantments from all Resto staves. It’s worth it.
Introduce new staff types for the other schools of magic
Illusion: copy/paste the old Resto light/heavy attacks to this staff. The new skill line should include fear, cloak, Minor Courage buff, blind, etc.
Alteration: This is the new magic tanking skill line. Give it a green channeled heavy attack that taunts so it feels like you’re pulling mobs with a magic tractor beam. We can finally have a proper magicka tank and not these cheap ice tank knockoffs.
Conjuration: a low-powered oblivion damage skill, new pets, and a Banish spell (prismatic damage, maybe?). BONUS: a unique Oblivion resistance ability of some kind.
Introduce Spellswords
Sword in one hand, spell in the other. Make light/heavy attacks scale with magic stats. The skill line should include one spell from each school:
Destruction: Destructive Cloak, AOE DOT centered on caster. Destructive Blast, makes it instant AOE burst. Destructive Vortex, AOE DOT placed at target location.
Restoration: Respite, heal + stam restore.
Illusion: Calm, new CC effect. Stops combat, like fear except the enemy doesn’t run away and it breaks if they take damage. Harmony, same effect in AOE. Charm, NPC attacks other NPC’s hostile to the caster.
Alteration: Oakflesh, minor resistance buffs. Thornflesh, minor resistance buffs plus reflect melee damage. Stoneflesh, improve to major resistance buffs.
Conjuration: Bound Sword. When slotted, replaces your sword with a Bound Sword, making your light and heavy attacks deal Oblivion damage. When activated, grants Major Sorcery for 20 seconds.
Do this and I promise I'll buy all the Crown Store camels.
