Summerset 2H stamina build - weapon type question

I have a stamina DK build that I'm running. I have all divines and the Lover mundus stone. I've been having a hard time getting the greatsword I want, but I have a battle axe and maul. I was just wondering if it's even worth trying to get the greatsword. The axe and maul effects seem pretty good. The maul in particular seems like it could do a lot of damage with Crushing Weapon. It seems like with the Summerset changes weapon damage is less important. Thoughts?
