Psijic Order quests, can I choose which quest first?

The quests to level up psijic order skill line obviously involve getting to a map and closing some portals, then going to another map, doing the same, etc. I am leveling a character, and I would like to keep the traditional 'finish one area before heading to next' style of gameplay. Naturally I want to do the psijic quest on that map when I am questing on that map. However, however many times I tried, the first such quest is always Iliac Bay. I am AD character, so I will not go the DC area until Cadwell gold, which is too far away. My question is ,can I choose to do psijic quests on AD maps first?

Even though your character is AD, you can go to any alliance zone. You do not have to wait until Cadwell's gold quest. The Psijic skill line sends you to various places where you have to do the areas for that part of the skill line to progress to the next. Since you don't want to go to another alliance yet, you won't be able to progress in the Psijic skill line until you can go to all the zones.

No.

Well, you can start the Psijic line, the first bunch of time breaches is on Summerset, but then you get sent to the Lilac Bay in DC, and that is where the next step is taking place, and no progression will be made until you take that step. And the rest of the guild missions will take you all over tamriel, from stonefalls to alik'r, from valenwood to black marsh...

Its... a sim ilar issue with the TG or DB questings, many of those will also send you all over tamriel, and thus are better done unce you have finished cadwells and unlocked all the wayshrines...

Of course, it is only an issue if you want to have the Psijic line from the start... if you want to do things properly, it does make a lot of sense to forget summerset for starters, and do the alliance quests, coldharbour, then cadwells... and -then- Psijic. Still more then enough content in the rest of the game to level, morph and max the skills througjout orsinium, morrowind, CWC and Summerset questings that way... and even if there wasn't, no big deal, easy enough to do it dungeon crawling or daily mission-ing as well.

Thank you. The difference between this and TG and DB is that I can drop TG and DB quest until I get quest for the zones I want. This is why I am asking here.

As mentioned, the first leg is in summerset. You can do that, then leave the Psijoc questline on the back burner while you do everything else... then pick it up again during cadwells.
Just how you like it best.
