Visual Glitch - flying/blinking assets

Trees, rocks, cages, pretty much anything flying around at lighting speed and then instantly back. I dunno my computer specs, perhaps @Soleya can fill that in for me, but PC/NA and here's my little video. Have had this happen in Crag a lot, Cyro just yesterday (7/2) and Summerset rarely. All drivers are up to date, all game clients are repaired. That's all I know to do.

Does it start to happen after last patch or it was issue even before last patch?

I've seen it 2 days ago in Cyrodiil, but not quite to that extent. Just flickering of objects.

Both GamerAeryn and I have similar PC's with Windows 7, GTX 1080. Main differences are I have 16GB of Ram and she has 8GB. I have a Core I7 4770k and she has a Core I7 4790k. Both of us are using SSD drives for the game.

Have sometimes notice blinking in Cyrodil, espesially when riding. It seems to apear randomly, havent found anything that triggers it. I have GTX1070, 16GB ram, Core I7 7820hk, running game from SSD, Windows 10.

    Happening everywhere now

a few minor issues before yesterdays patch, now whole areas vanish

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

PC/EU in my case, and a massive change in many areas and several delves between Sunday night and Monday afternoon, with no change in PC software other than the new 'fixed' ESO

Looks like something on the computer is having issues, aging wear and tear perhaps.
That would be pretty darn hard to track down and the reason multiple people see this is likely because we have hundreds of thousands on the forums so somebody is bound to have a similar issue with their pc.

Visual glitches like that were much more common back in the day with old and maxed out hardware being more common. It happens more common in physics calculated movements of objects as those can break spectacularly easily and turn a person into a human pretzel.

It's all about some code for position being out of order or misread and displayed with that incorrect data or even the data being correct but incorrectly displayed, like a damaged HDMI cable.

In the biz, they call this tiling because it often takes the appearance of random tiles of color or black in an otherwise coherent screen.

    Edit:
It could be screen tearing too. Do you have vertical sync enabled or disabled?
You really need vertical sync enabled unless you have a gsync or free-sync monitor.
This really really looks like some parts of the screen are refreshed while others are not so you see object from previous frames in the new frames. This would be most common when turning the camera or moving in any other way.

Summerset officially launched June 5th with many backend changes to support multi-core CPUs to enhance graphics. It could be this having issues for you.

I still think a lot of this may be because you may not have "vertical sync" turned on. You should check that. Higher FPS is worthless without it being smooth due to screen tearing.

I don't know about the OP but I always play with vertical sync turned on. And on PC the Summerset released the end of May (forget the exact date), not June 5th.

They did several patches though. It wasn't all final until the June 5th official release across all platforms.

k, looks like it was off, Soleya informs me I don't have that monitor type, so we'll see if this helps. Thanks for the tip. Now, if ZOS could address the "entire floor and/or ceiling disappears" issue... @ZOS_GinaBruno

For me, it’s been happening for the last couple of days (on PC, both NA and EU servers). Walls disappear, whole towns disappear, green fields turn into deserts—but only for a second before popping back to the correct environment. It’s happening in various locations; the most recent was Rivenspire. Never had this happen before this week.

it seemed okay for a little while but the vertical sync thing doesn't appear to have affected the Craglorn issue I showed in my little vid. same thing, even more blinking of stuff flying in front of the camera.

I, too, have experienced this since Summerset launched. It's primarily in Craglorn in and around Belkarth, and is on the PS4 Pro.

I most often get the blinking assets as I'm riding into grahtwood, from either of 2 directions. I'm just grateful that i'm not having the problems I did when it first started, and I had to do that sunken city in summerset without being able to actually see where walls were (or, about the same time, having to go through one of the DB main quests and having the same in one of the dungeons). This is more or less tolerable, though it would be nice if it got fixed properly.
