Would u like to see eso follow in the footsteps of destiny and the division with the release of the next gen consoles and have a re:release with a better optimization and possibly cross play?

The very last thing i want as an Xbox player is cross play with PC. Combat-addons make it so we are basically playing entirely different games. Its no joke not even comparable.

I wouldn't hold my breath on a complete reoptimization for next Gen any time soon.

Cross play would introduce a hold gambit of other issues with server load, character transfer, and the imbalances that would arise from one platform having access to add ons while the other would not.

Cross play to PS4 or other consoles would be fine. There is no way a console player can compete with all the PC cheat-ons they use for trials/PVP and programs that basically tell them what to do every step of the way.

I played WOW( and other MMO's) on PC and the add-ons are insane when compared to zero add-ons on console.

    Console master race.

They can't even optimize the game for high end PC specs, they have no prayer of doing it for consoles. Crossplay won't happen either, Sony won't allow it, especially with the new crown gifting, because it offends them that your money might benefit players on other platforms. And you really don't want console and PC together, the imbalance would be detrimental to the player population.

I have no problem with cross play as I play both platforms anyway.
Would be fun to assassinate some "master race".

I would love to see a next gen release, but there are a few obvious issues that prevent crossplay from being acceptable. The three servers (PC, XB1, PS4) all have distinct market prices, names (players and guilds), and limited singular resources (such as guild traders). PC also has addons which would give an incredibly unfair advantage to those players against console players. IF the servers are merged, I cannot see a possible situation where players from all sides of the merged servers would be able to retain their characters or items for the merged servers due to possible economy and social imbalances. I can only see that working by creating a new, strictly crossplay server where everyone would have to start anew (similar to switching to NA server to EU server). But again, due to PC addons, this would only be a partial solution for console players.

TES6 is the next gen TES everyone will want. TESO can keep chugging until then, which is looking like 2023 or later.

I would love a new TESO after that though, and actually built in the TES engine so it can play more like a TES game. I know One Tamriel and all DLC/Chapters since then have massively improved the game as a TES experience compared to launch, but there are some really bad decisions made during this game's original development that are impossible to remove (zones with loading screens between them; three vs three faction warfare story; awful LOD system; impassable terrain; respawning enemies in dungeons due to over-reliance on multiplayer everything).

A Destiny/Division model would be great one day though. Fewer players in the open world to create a sense of loneliness and immersion within it. Ideally no players in the open for a TES game, and certainly none in non-public dungeons so we can have decent designs without generic respawning mob packs. But have other players in main cities (not towns and villages) for the times they want to show off gear, and group phase players in around group areas like world bosses and dolmen-esque events. Also, focus on one province at launch, leaving the others for expansions and DLC. Trying to create environments and architecture for every single province at launch makes this game look wide as an ocean but deep as a puddle. All provinces having only one architectural style is maddeningly frustrating. Imagine if TESV Skyrim's cities were all Whiterun. That's ZOS's approach to city design thanks to trying to create all provinces at once.

If you look at back at when the PS4 first launched DCUO was a PC and PS3 game. Both of the servers were separate; PS3 and PS4 players were lucky and start to play along side each other in November 2013. Move forward a few years and PC and PS players were on the same server, cross play. Final Fantasy also has cross play.

What I keep hearing is how PC players have an advantage over console. I heard the same thing in those other games. Yet the reality was, PC player slight advantage did not really help them out, because most PS players were able to keep up or surpass those great PC players in those other games.

The reason is console players rely more on developing skill vs. relying on a program to tell you what to do. The players who rely more on skill tend to outperform an application that can slow down and cause a PC player to die or deal with an attack that was not predicted by the app. I like relying on myself for gaming; if I relied on an app, well than what is the point of even playing. At that point, might as well write a program to play the game for me. I like the challenge and if I use an app the challenge is taken away and the game becomes boring. When a game becomes boring I stop playing them.

As for nex-gen system: My money would be on any decently populated MMO that is on the current gen systems will update the game to be played on the next gen system with both generations on the same server.

As for cross play. I hope more MMOs push for this as it will allow more people to play together. Sony ATM is pushing back on this but MS seems open to it. For a while it was the other way around but now Sony is against cross play.

The reason cross play should happen is so that companies will have less servers to maintain. This will allow the company to reduce some overhead and invest additional money into improving the servers that they do have.

The other option is removal of regional servers and having one mega server per a platform.

I recommend going with cross play but if the company cannot get that to happen than they should combine regional servers.

These are my thoughts on this issue. What any MMO company does is always going to be around the revenues streams it has and if a company is not generating enough revenue, it will adjust how it does business. For instance, crates or lootboxes are one way to generate more revenue. For me, I don't mind ESO having these as long as the items in the crate are not game changing, such as what other MMOs have in their lootboxes.

    To summarize...

Nex-Gen will get ESO probably around launch - similar to UHD mode when PS4 Pro was launched.
Cross Play - makes sense but probably won't happen
One Mega Server: good move if various platforms are having population issues other wise regional servers will stay
Crate: Here to stay as a good revenue stream

To all those saying cross platform will never happen because of Sony I just want to say that you are sadly forgetting Sony wanted this with the PS3/360 console era. Microsoft opposed it so it never came to fruition. All I can say is what goes around comes around.

ESO was meant to be PC only, then came along Sony and Xbox telling ESO that their nex-gen consoles will be able to handle ESO full game. Be thankful you can play ESO on consoles only because of Zos GREED.
