THE DEAL

can we make a deal together? we accept that during the next 6 months there is no new content, events, absolutely no change, not even a new costume, nothing. in exchange all we want is a constant and arduous work to fix the bugs, lags, balance and all that sh... that has fallen on us for weeks, months, years. that's enough!

I honestly think a good majority of their player base would be okay with this, myself included.

Something tells me that you just set up an impossible situation. You suggest no changes, but then ask for fixes. Fixes are a change. Fixes often lead to bugs, sometimes completely unrelated. They could assign an entire team to just squashing bugs (and the new bugs those fixes create) and they probably already do this. Any teams working on new content can do that alongside these bug fixes. There is no need to stop one aspect in order to work hard on the other. Even if they stopped all content, the bugs would persist. It's the nature of bugs.

this would be like the complete OPPOSITE of their current business strategy - which is to release dlc after dlc, crate after crate without even looking back at bugs and fixes and glitches. would take a serious bump on the head of one of the devs to actually change their thinking to this degree

Not exactly. For one you knew what he meant. By no changes he meant as far as new content goes.

Secondly, if they devoted the majority of their work on fixing existing issues and bugs, yes it will always create new ones, but eventually you end up with a much more stable and playable game. At which point they could begin releasing content again and fixing it as they go.

The teams working on new content I can guarantee you are not working on fixing any bugs unless it directly relates to what they're working on already in the new content.

Sure eventually more bugs are released, but at least a lot of the long standing bugs might finally be ironed out completely and not a recurring issue.

Don't misunderstand me. I want bug fixes too. I'm sure we all do. I just can't see a situation where stopping all future content for a time actually leads to positive results that are worth the cost. They would lose players to boredom. Players would stop spending money. They may have more fun with the game, those that stick around without any content that is. If it were as easy as just pulling resources and man hours from one aspect and adding them to another until it's fixed, I suspect ZOS and many other game companies would have done just that ages ago.

I’d be totally down for at least 1 quarter of nothing but stability and QoL fixes.

Knowledge, freedom, uncertainty and the brutal truths of reality (red pill)
Security, happiness, beauty, and the blissful ignorance of illusion (blue pill)"
