Khajit riding cats with cat pets

So, I saw a Khajit riding on the back of a lion mount with a cat pet following it around. I got to thinking, that’s pretty weird.

It’s analogous to a human strapping a saddle on the back of another larger, malformed, quadrupedal naked human that can’t speak and riding around with another smaller naked quadrupedal, non-speaking, human chasing them around.

Heh.

I tried to write out a "I heard you like cats" joke, but I failed.

You could see it as if Humans rode Gorillas as Mounts, and then has Chimpanzees as pets, since we're all a part of the same Mammal family. It's the same way for Khajiit and Senche.

    It's just a family reunion.

Basically this. There are several forms of Khajiit due to the moons and their cycles so they can take the form of humanoid cat-men, to little domestic-looking cats, to even tiger-sized senche. So it very well could be a family.

If gorillas were the size and shape of a horse and lived on steppe/plains and had been more widespread in antiquity we'd all be going to Gorilla Week at Ascot. Monkeys would be popular pets due to their similarity, intelligence and our subsequent empathy, if laws and their behaviour allowed. They don't catch mice either so they aren't. People weren't fussed about bananas eating their crops.

That's funny, I thought he may be referring to me. lol
My Khajiit rides a black lion with flames, and has a black senche kitten (also in flames) as a pet currently.

I, personally, don't really like cats very much - and my character is a vampire so the flames are likely a bad idea considering they are deathly allergic. It's an incredibly odd mix no matter what.

No, That's equivalent to a Human, riding a gorilla with a rhesus monkey following.

It's a part of khajiit lore. They're kind of like that. Didn't you see the upcoming Ja'khajiit Raz preview? I'm actually stunned that they haven't watered down certain aspects of the khajiit. I mean, I suppose they're not having sex parties in the streets and there's no more talk of barbs, but still... They have very open, familial attitudes.

As such, the sapient khajiit do tend to hang around together. Alfiq are sapient, by the way. Those are the ones that look like domestic cats, except with glowing eyes. Now consider where Alfiq are in the game and realise that it's established canon that the khajiit have the best information network in Tamriel. No one ever suspects the Alfiq. They're just cute kittens! Awwww. They're also cute little kittens who're spying on you, 24/7.

The senche are only borderline sentient, however. Their intelligence is more in line with, say, somewhere between dogs and crows than fully realised sapience. It's enough that they can be easily domesticated by other khajiit and worked with, but for most intents and purposes, they can still be considered wild animals. Effectively, someone might actually be riding on the back of their own son, since the khajiit do give birth to non-sapient family members.

Similarly, the khajiit can mate with non-sapient family members to produce sapient khajiit because khajiit biology is weird.

The long and short of this? It's not unusual to see big families of khajiit hanging out. You see it all over the place in ESO as well. ESO, honestly, is more true to the lore than any Elder Scrolls game has been in a long time. That's one of the reasons why I'm excited to see their take on Elsweyr.

TL;DR: This is khajiit being khajiit. Player is likely a roleplayer.

Edit: The use of 'family' in this case, mind you, often extends to people who aren't blood-related. That's just how the khajiit see things. Just to clear that up. That's not to say that there aren't close blood relations had by the khajiit, though, according to the lore. I imagine that the very Woodstock nature of the khajiit would probably upset some people.

Eeeeessssh. It is when it comes to Khajiit representation I suppose, but only because there are four types visible instead of only one like you see in BGS TES games, and only then to sell you kittens and mounts, and don't forget the Pahmar were used as generic tiger mobs to kill which is pretty awful. We'll see if the likes of Dagi, Tojay, and Ohmes show up in an Elsweyr chapter.

After how ludicrously lore-breaking the visual design of Valenwood and Summerset are, and how each province pretty much only has one architectural style used in every single town and city (imagine Skyrim where every city was Whiterun) I think it's a huge stretch to say this is a lore friendly TES game. But I can see why it isn't, given they tried creating assets for every single province from day one, instead of focusing on one province at a time where they could have done them all justice. It's still a fun game for what it is, if you can look past the constant lore issues.

Yes, dislike the Pahmar who is named senche, worst in reaper march there you fight some Khajiit bandits in an delve they have lions rather than senche, its one place there they would fit perfect.

And yes to more Khajiit types.

its important to match the Mount and pet to the Khajiit fur.

Just sad they did not released the Raz pet with Summerset. It would be way better if you got an extra dialoge option from him with the pet.

One of my toons is Azurah priestess Azarji-ko. Sorc, healer, khajiit. And she has a sister, moonlight senche Razarji-daro. They was just born in different moon phases. And always walk together, they are very close.

(they want a big brother too, moonlight senche-raht mount, but ZOS do not like big families)

Nothing weird in senche pets and mounts for khajiit. It is part of their culture.
