A Single Dreugh

So, while running about over on Stros M'Kai looking for jewelry and other mats, I came across a single Dreugh under a bridge. It had a locked chest next to it, and it was all by its lonesome. My question is, is why is there just a single Dreugh on the island? Obviously, since Dreugh inhabit the Abecean Sea, it makes sense that they can access the island, but what doesn't make sense is why there's just one. Did the devs plan for there to a quest that had to deal with the Dreugh? Is it just an easter egg of some kind?

The difference between a displaced stowaway and an invasive species is the mature breeding population it can potentially create. As the only one, it probably originated on a ship coming from Wayrest.

i usually get a foul hide, some gold and a fish from it.

So this innocent Dreugh was wandering the lands in search of hopes and dreams, then you discriminately kill this poor creature. What if they were unlocking the chest in search of gold to pay bills, or to take their loved one to Summerset. Shame.

I wonder if ZOS has statistics on how many times an individual mob/npc has been killed?

Hey hey hey, in my defense, i was trying to open a chest and he attacked me. In hindsight, it could've been his box, but thats why hindsight is 20/20.
